    Abstract: A method for calculating a cooperative maneuver for at least two machines. The method includes the steps of: obtaining environmental information pertaining to a common environment of the at least two machines; generating a plurality of cooperative maneuvers, each comprising at least one maneuver for each of the at least two machines, based on the environmental information; evaluating each cooperative maneuver based on a predefined quality criterion, wherein the evaluation of each cooperative maneuver comprises evaluating only a part of the maneuvers included in the cooperative maneuver based on the predefined quality criterion; selecting a cooperative maneuver based on a value of the quality criterion as determined by the evaluation; providing the selected cooperative maneuver for the at least two machines; and performing a maneuver of the selected cooperative maneuver by at least one of the at least two machines.

The method includes negotiating a maneuver among at least a first vehicle and a second vehicle, wherein the maneuver is specified at least in terms of one or more target road resources attributed to the first vehicle; determining that the first vehicle has entered an area associated with one of the target road resources attributed to the first vehicle and/or determining that the first vehicle has left an area associated with one of the target road resources attributed to the first vehicle; and in response to determining that the first vehicle has entered the area associated with the target road resource attributed to the first vehicle and/or in response to determining that the first vehicle has left the area associated with the target road resource attributed to the first vehicle, transmitting a status message from the first vehicle to the second vehicle.
