  • Patent number: 11623617
Abstract: An automatic control of a vehicle washing installation in an emergency operation in the case of a fault is provided. The following method steps are carried out: detecting an error message for ascertaining a fault state of the vehicle washing installation. In response to the detected fault state: specifying function blocks, which can be activated in a fault-free manner, on the basis of a read-in equipment data set which represents the current equipping of the vehicle washing installation with machine components for computing emergency operation programs; controlling a vehicle washing installation for carrying out the emergency operation on the basis of the calculated emergency operation programs.

  • Publication number: 20220212636
Abstract: A method for treating a vehicle having at least one outer surface, includes (a) adjusting an angle of a treatment brush relative to the vertical in at least one predetermined angular range parallel and/or perpendicular to the outer surface, (b) guiding the treatment brush along the at least one outer surface on a path during the treatment process, (c) monitoring the angle of the treatment brush to the vertical parallel and/or perpendicular to the outer surface during step (b), and (d) adapting the path of the treatment brush if a deviation of the monitored angle of the treatment brush from the at least one predetermined angular range is determined in step (c). An apparatus for treating a vehicle having at least one outer surface, a use of the apparatus for treating a vehicle having at least one outer surface, and a computer program product are further disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220080932
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle treatment system, in particular a vehicle washing system, includes treating at least one vehicle surface with at least one rotating brush with a brush material at an immersion depth of the brush, and controlling during the treatment of the vehicle surface, the rotating brush based on a setpoint value for the friction of the brush material on the vehicle surface, the immersion depth of the rotating brush on the vehicle surfaces treated therewith being monitored at the setpoint value during the treatment of the vehicle surface in order to determine the state of the brush material. In addition, a vehicle treatment apparatus, a use thereof, and a computer program product are provided.

  • Publication number: 20200282960
Abstract: An automatic generation of washing programs for an automatic vehicle washing installation is provided. For this purpose, a washing program generator with a washing program generation unit is provided. This includes an input interface for reading-in an equipment data set which represents how the washing installation is currently equipped with machine components, a processor unit for computation of a group of function blocks based on the equipment data set read-in via the input interface, a user interface which is intended for outputting the group of function blocks computed by the processor unit and is intended for detection of a selection of the output function blocks, wherein the processor unit is further intended to compute a washing program based on the detected selected function blocks for operation of the washing installation.

  • Publication number: 20180345918
Abstract: A vehicle wash installation includes an electronic control unit for controlling a washing program of a vehicle. The installation further includes a sensor unit, via which a sensor signal is read-in and relayed to the control unit that calculates a control command. The control unit responds to a received sensor signal by calculating washing program sections and controls the vehicle washing installation with control logic. Washing program sections are displayed on a display on the input and output unit. A method and a computer program for controlling an in-bay car wash on the basis of automatically read sensor data from the sensor unit are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110133682
Abstract: For activating a stepper motor, a pulse-width modulated current is supplied to a coil of the stepper motor and it is determined whether the current flowing through the stepper motor, based on a default value, lies within a current bandwidth defined by an upper switching threshold and a lower switching threshold. The current supply to the coil is switched on when the detected current has dropped to the lower threshold and is switched off when the detected current has risen to the upper threshold. In order to detect a step loss, the signal form of the current or its change, respectively, is analyzed and deviations from desired values or desired value ranges, respectively, which have been caused by step losses, are detected. The determination of the signal form of the current or its change, respectively, may occur indirectly by analyzing a corresponding control signal.
