  • Patent number: 9369498
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for controlling a processing load in a packet data network, wherein a load control information is set in a predetermined field of a message. The load control information is then checked on the routing path of the message and a processing resource of the packet data network is selected in response to the result of checking step. Thereby, load balancing information can be provided at the network to thereby provide an efficient balancing and load sharing function without heavy string comparisons and data base queries.

  • Patent number: 7792974
Abstract: A method and apparatus for registering a user as a subscriber in a communication network. The method includes transmitting a registration message which defines an identity of the user to the communication network. The method also includes providing in the registration message a header field for defining at least one other identity of the user as a subscriber. The method also includes performing a one-by-one registration based on an identity information stored at a terminal device, whereby the identity information defines at least one other identity of the user as a subscriber. Thus, the user or subscriber can register some or all of his public identities at once with one registration procedure, allowing the user to utilize his identities by grouping public identities under user profiles or under private identities, while preventing unwanted calls.

  • Publication number: 20050050194
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for proxying or relaying a message to an application server, wherein a processing information indicating at least one allowable operating mode for processing said message is forwarded towards an application server (10, 40, 60). The message is then processed based on a selected one of the at least one allowable operating mode. The forwarding step may be performed by adding a header field to the message or by performing a mode negotiation function. Thereby, the application server (10, 40, 60) can be informed of acceptable alternative ways of handling incoming requests and a proxy network element (20) may continue a pre-established chain of application servers without the risk that the call or session may be terminated at the application server (10, 40, 60).

  • Publication number: 20040122934
Abstract: The present invention describes a registration method wherein a user is registered in a communication network. According to a first aspect, a registration message is used, which comprises a header field for defining at least one other identity of the subscriber. According to a second aspect, a registration message is used, which comprises an identity information in its payload portion, said identity information defining at least one other identity of the subscriber. According to a third aspect, a one-by-one registration is performed based on an identity information stored at the terminal device, said identity information defining at least one other identity of the subscriber. Thus, the user or subscriber can register some or all of his public identities at once with one registration procedure. Furthermore, the subscriber can utilize his identities smoothly and easily, and at the same time prevent unwanted incoming calls.

  • Publication number: 20030115332
Abstract: The invention relates to method for communicating information from a first mobile communication device (UE1) to a second mobile communication device (UE2) via a network. In the method, a SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) INVITE message (31) having a header portion (32) and an SDP (Session Description Protocol) body (33) is sent from the first mobile communication device (UE1) to the second mobile communication device (UE2) via the network. In the SDP body (33), it is indicated a set of codec related features that the first mobile communication device (UE1) supports for a session between the first mobile communication device (UE1) and the second mobile communication device (UE2). The codec related features are a set of codecs that the first mobile communication device (UE1) supports and different options of a particular codec, such as operational modes of an adaptive multi-rate (AMR) codec.
