  • Patent number: 7517347
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrosurgical instrument (5) for an endoscope or a catheter, which can be operated by means of a high-frequency current, contact electrosurgical treatment and non-contact plasma coagulation in an ionisable gas. A stationary electrode (33) is arranged on the distal end of a guiding tube (7) that can be introduced into the instrument channel (1) of an endoscope catheter (3), and when the electrosurgical electrode for the contact treatment is in the retracted position in the guiding tube (7), the stationary electrode is connected to the electrosurgical electrode (11) by means of a contact element (37).The retracted position of the electrode (11) can, but not necessarily, be maintained by an abutment (21) of a handling device (13) and/or by a suitable arrangement and measurement of the contact element (37). The retracted position of the electrode (11) does not need to be optically controlled.

  • Patent number: 6920033
Abstract: The invention relates to a variable capacitor which, due to its particular arrangement of electrodes, enables a significantly higher current flow than generally known constructions having the same or a similar structural shape, said capacitor also has an increased life expectancy and is compatible with existing capacitors in terms of connection. Such variable capacitors can be used in high frequency generators, in matchboxes and in interface networks for industrial high frequency applications, as regulatable filters in high frequency power electronics and in the power part of emission installations.

  • Patent number: 6587328
Abstract: The invention relates to a bellows in a vacuum capacitor, whose bellows structure (1) comprises a carrier material (2) and at least one electrically conductive layer (5, 6), whereby the latter has a uniform thickness over the entire bellows structure. The deviations of the layer thickness from the mean are less than ±50% and preferably less than ±10%. This results in an increased life span with mechanical loading. In order to increase the heat emission through radiation, the bellows structure (1) has an additional dark layer (7). The used method provides for the application of the electrically conductive layers prior to the shaping process, which results in homogeneous layer thicknesses.

  • Patent number: 6170138
Abstract: A capacitor is described, in particular a vacuum capacitor, comprising two electrodes (1, 1′), at least one insulator (5), and means for fastening (4, 4′). A process is proposed according to which the two electrodes (1, 1′) are each produced as one piece of an electrode material through a cold-flow extrusion process. The electrodes so produced are distinguished by a high surface quality. The result of this, in the capacitors produced from such electrodes, is high quality-factors, low temperature coefficients, a high current-carrying capacity, and an excellent dielectric strength, as well as a compact structure with a simultaneous reduction in the number of components required. Capacitors of this type, in particular vacuum capacitors, find application in HF technology for fixed and variable capacitance values.
