  • Patent number: 4739593
Abstract: The terrace glasswork, which is particularly simple to adapt to building conditions, contains the following features: (a) It is made up of a vaulted roof, which is supported above on an existing wall and below on the terrace floor; as well as two gable parts. (b) The roof is made up along its length of several identical, glassed in arch components, the side frame parts of which can be joined and sealed to one another. Each of the latter has two movable glass panes (17, 20) guided so as to slide at different levels. (c) The gable parts are each made up of three gable components, namely of a square basic component (4) and two connecting components (5a, 6a) each of which to the arch components, and which connects together two right-angled frame sides of the basic component (4).

  • Patent number: 4372084
Abstract: Doors and windows may be sealed in a particularly efficient manner by arranging on their periphery a flexible sealing tube which is adapted to be expanded by means of a pump which serves to pressurize a liquid with which the tube is filled. The invention is directed to a novel pump which is adapted, independently of the existing temperature, to adjust the desired liquid pressure in the sealing tube. The pump of the invention, while being of compact design, is also adapted for use with windows or doors covering very large openings. This is made possible by the use of an independent supply reservoir for the pressurized liquid, the reservoir being connected to said pump and being also connected to said sealing tube by means of a first valve which is adapted to be operated by a closing device. Between the pump and the sealing tube there is provided a second valve which is adapted to be opened towards the sealing tube.

  • Patent number: 4338753
Abstract: Window frame members are joined by an arrangement comprising a pair of frame strip members having in cross section a U-shaped receptor. Each of the arms of the receptor have laterally inwardly directed projections. A connecting strip is provided having in cross section a central portion and a catch lug at each end for entry within the receptor. The catch lug is provided with outwardly directed projections on each of its lateral sides which cooperate with the inner edge of the inwardly directed projections on the receptor. The catch lug and the receptor are formed so that a cavity is defined within the receptor, which cavity can be filled with a hardenable filler.

  • Patent number: 4333295
Abstract: An interconnecting spacer is interposed between a pair of channel members, each having a central portion and substantially normally extending flanges. The spacer is H-shaped in cross section, having a central cross-bar and a pair of lateral side walls. The ends of the side walls and flanges of the channel members have cooperative engagement means. A plug is inserted within the cavities formed by the spacer and the channel members having a dimension such that the engagement means are placed under stress to lock the same.
