  • Patent number: 6404420
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device having a rotary switch and a display screen for displaying information. It is the object of the invention further to develop such a device to the effect that it permits operation which is as universal as possible and simple. The invention is defined by the fact that the rotary switch is provided for the two-dimensional movement of at least one display element of the display screen, that a rotary movement of the rotary switch is provided for selecting the direction of movement of the display element, and that a first axial movement of the rotary switch is provided for moving the display element in the selected direction of movement.

  • Publication number: 20020004700
Abstract: A navigation route planning system is provided with various interlinked facilities, including a user I/O facility, a route planning facility, a position determination facility, and a destination and institutional table facility. In particular, the planning facility is arranged for under control of a set of interval point requests received from a user, one or more timing indications each associated to a respective interval point request, and furthermore dynamic traffic condition informations received from an overall notification system, to dynamically generate a route listing for a route to be travelled in accordance with the interval points, associated timing indications and dynamic traffic condition informations.

  • Publication number: 20010025221
Abstract: A route planning system is provided with various interlinked facilities, including a user I/O facility, a route planning facility, a position determination facility, and a destination table facility. Under control of a set of start and/or destination requests from a user person a route plan to be traveled generated. In particular, the system further comprises a driving habit assessment facility for assessing a particular user person's driving habits as additional input data for the route planning facility. On the basis of averaging the user person's driving habits the generating is influenced in the time domain and/or in the spatial domain.

  • Patent number: 5466517
Abstract: A spunbonded fabric comprises continuous thermoplastic filaments, which adhere to one another at their intersecting points without binder, and whose material comprises at least 50 weight % biodegradable polycaprolactone having a mean molecular weight of from 35,000 to 70,000. In the production process of the spunbonded fabric, no additional stabilization step is necessary after the filaments are deposited.

  • Patent number: 5056358
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for determining the rheological properties of sedimenting suspensions. More particularly, this invention relates to a method and apparatus which permits the accurate determination of the rheological properties of particulate suspensions in which the particles are settling. An apparatus for evaluating the rheological properties of sedimenting suspensions comprising: (a) a sedimenting suspension retainer; (b) a device means suspended in the retainer, the retainer and suspended device being capable of being rotated relative to one another, the device being permeable to the passage of particles settling in the sedimenting suspension, the suspended device being suspended in the sedimenting suspension in the retainer in the region having constant density.

  • Patent number: 4938901
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing a surgical sponge which contains contrast agent embedded in a polymer matrix in proportions of up to 70 wt. %. The matrix consists of a polymer material free of plasticizers. In the process for the production of the sponge a matrix for the contrast agent is used, which is an uncrosslinked, viscous liquid, prepolymer state until after it has been extruded onto the basic fleece material, and not until a process step that then follows is the polymerization completed.
