  • Publication number: 20140060981
Abstract: A vehicle braking system includes a wheel braking unit with an actuator, friction unit, and resilient member. The wheel braking unit is controlled by an operating element. The braking system can be operated in a normal operation mode by a control parameter. The braking system can be operated in a safety mode when the control parameter falls below a threshold value. In the normal mode, the control parameter acts on the actuator so that the actuator establishes a first air clearance in the friction unit. When in the safety mode, a resilient member establishes a second air clearance, which is smaller than the first air clearance.

  • Publication number: 20140026379
Abstract: An arrangement and a method are provided for upgrading/downgrading and maintenance (fitting, removal, selection, or repair) of a needle board (1) of a needle machine for nonwoven or needle felt production. The arrangement has at least one tool (2) and has a holding device (3) for holding the needle board (1). The tool (2) may be positioned relative to a needle bore (4) and/or a needle (5) of the needle board (1) by means of a control and drive device and at least one detection device. The arrangement increases the flexibility of the positioning of the tool and allows operations such as selection, repair of the needles by virtue of the tool (2) and the control and drive device being assigned at least one robot (7, 8). The robot (7, 8) is provided with at least one articulatedly mounted tool arm (9, 10) on which the tool (2) is arranged.

  • Publication number: 20050063987
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel proteins, in particular membrane proteins or proteins which are firmly associated with the membrane, which are derived from Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) and which contain the peptide sequence SEQ ID NO:37 according to Tables 1a-1c, or to parts or homologues thereof having a minimum length of ten amino acids, and to their preparation and use as pharmaceutical compositions, in particular as vaccines, or as a diagnostic agent. Based on these data, the gene coding for this protein was also isolated as shown in SEQ ID NO: 36.

  • Patent number: 6300102
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid protein comprising the Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane protein I (OprI) which is fused with its amino terminal end to the carboxy-terminal end of a carboxy-terminal portion of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane protein F (OprF), as well as to monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies against this hybrid protein. Both, the hybrid protein and the antibodies directed to the hybrid protein confer protection against an infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa to laboratory animals or man.

  • Patent number: 5585268
Abstract: The invention relates to malaria-specific nucleic acid sequences, to the expression products thereof, and to the use thereof. A combination of three of the expression proteins whose nucleic acid sequences were isolated by screening a lambda gt11 gene bank with a monospecific antiserum against the protective 41 kD antigen band from P. falciparum protects Aotus monkeys from a P. falciparum infection in model experiments.

  • Patent number: 5395614
Abstract: Protective Plasmodium falciparum hybrid proteins which contain part-sequences of the malaria antigens HRPII and SERP, the preparation and use thereof. The invention relates to hybrid proteins composed of part-sequences of the malaria antigens HRPII and SERP. The HRPII sequence has already proven protective in the monkey model (EP-A2-0 315 085), where a C-terminal region of 189 amino acids has been used in the present invention in the same way as in the preceding protection experiment. SERP was identified with the aid of an antiserum against a protective protein band (EP-A1-0 283 882); the part-sequence used (amino acids (AA) 631-892 or 630-764) contains at least two T-cell epitopes (Roussilhon et al. (1990), Immunol. Letters 25, 149-154). In preferred embodiments, further T-cell epitope-containing regions of other P. falciparum proteins such as merozoite surface antigen I (MSA I or else "195 kd antigen"), amino acids from 100 to 300, are incorporated (Crisanti et al. (1988), Science 240, 324-326).
