Abstract: The addition of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymers containing 5 to 35 weight % of ethylene oxy groups and molar masses of the propylene glycol block between 1500 and 3000 to dry, hydraulic binder materials results in reduced dust formation, improved wettability, and enhanced flow properties of these materials when they are mixed with water.

Abstract: Joint-sealing and coating compounds containing aqueous dispersions of polymers and copolymers, except for polyacrylates and acrylate copolymers, plasticizers and typical additives, such as pigments and the like, show excellent properties, particularly in regard to spreadability, smoothing behavior and resistance to spray water of uncured surfaces of these compounds providing they contain nonionic cellulose ethers selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl, hydorxyethyl-methyl, hydroxypropyl-methyl and hydroxypropyl cellulose having a Brookfield viscosity (2% aqueous solution at 20.degree. C.) of at least 3,000 mPa.s.

Abstract: Early-rain-resistant joint-sealing compounds containing(a) aqueous polymer dispersions (I),(b) nonionic cellulose ethers (II) selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl, hydroxyethyl-methyl, hydroxypropyl-methyl and hydroxypropyl cellulose, and(c) optionally typical additives, such as fillers, pigments, plasticizers, extenders, thickeners, foam inhibitors, dispersion aids, pH regulators, preservatives and anti-aging agents,which can be produced by thorough mixing of (I) with the other constituents. To be able to introduce (II) in quantities above the solubility limit, the joint-sealing compounds are characterized in that (II) is suspended in retarded form in small quantities of water and is added and intermixed after suspension.

Abstract: Joint-sealing materials and coating materials which contain aqueous dispersions of polyacrylates or acrylate copolymers, plasticizers and the usual additives, such as pigments and the like, have excellent properties particularly with regard to brushability, smoothing behavior and wash-out resistance when they contain a nonionic cellulose ether selected from the group consisting of hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl-methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl-methyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl cellulose having a Brookfield viscosity in a 2% aqueous solution at 20.degree. C. of at least 3000 mPa.s.
