  • Patent number: 8097117
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a solar module by laminating a layer body consisting of a first carrier, to which at least one solar cell unit is applied, and a second carrier by at least one intermediate film based on a plasticizer-containing polyvinyl acetal by guiding the layer body between at least one pair of rollers at a temperature of 50 to 150° C.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 31, 2008
Date of Patent: January 17, 2012
    Assignee: Kuraray Europe GmbH
    Inventors: Andreas Karpinski, Bernhard Koll
  • Publication number: 20110041897
Abstract: The invention relates to the use of plasticizer-containing films based on polyvinyl acetal and having a high alkali titre for the production of photovoltaic modules.
    Type: Application
    Filed: April 16, 2009
    Publication date: February 24, 2011
    Applicant: Kuraray Europe GmbH
    Inventor: Bernhard Koll
  • Publication number: 20080185096
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a solar module by laminating a layer body consisting of a first carrier, to which at least one solar cell unit is applied, and a second carrier by at least one intermediate film based on a plasticiser-containing polyvinyl acetal by guiding the layer body between at least one pair of rollers at a temperature of 50 to 150° C.

  • Patent number: 7250217
Abstract: Plasticized films suitable as an intermediate layer in laminated safety glass and based on partially acetalized polyvinyl alcohols, in particular PVB, have not only the required excellent adhesion to glass but also undesired self-adhesion (susceptibility to blocking). Amounts of from 0.001 to 0.1% by weight of a pentaerythritol ester are proposed for use as an additive which reduces self-adhesion. This additive does not alter the adhesion of the film to glass. The invention is used for producing films for the production of laminated safety glass. The need to cool the films for stacking or wind-up is substantially eliminated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 2002
Date of Patent: July 31, 2007
    Assignee: Kuraray Europe GmbH
Inventors: Manfred Hoss, Bernhard Koll, Holger Stenzel
  • Publication number: 20050284516
Abstract: Solar modules, with the properties of laminated safety glass, comprising a laminate containing a) a glass pane b) at least one solar cell unit that is located between two PVB-based films, and c) a rear covering and at least one of the PVB-based films has a tensile strength of at least 16 N/mm2, are suitable for use as a facade component, roof surface, winter garden covering, soundproofing wall, or as a component of windows.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 22, 2005
    Publication date: December 29, 2005
