  • Patent number: 9320629
Abstract: A stent for positioning in a body lumen having a cylindrical shape extending along a longitudinal axis surrounded by a stent wall which defines a diameter of an axial passage communicating with openings on two opposite ends of the stent. The wall is configured so as to be elastic under tension whereupon an exertion of a tensile force acting on one of the ends of the stent in a longitudinal direction decreases the diameter of the stent, such that the stent may be removed.

  • Publication number: 20090177221
Abstract: An expandable endovascular implant (10) of the stent type is described, which is suitable in particular for occlusion of a blood vessel (31). The implant comprises a circumferential tubular wall extending about a longitudinal axis and composed of a radially expandable, flexible lattice structure, said wall enclosing a cylindrical hollow space with a cross section, characterized in that the cylindrical hollow space defined by the wall is narrowed at least one location along its axis.

  • Patent number: 4615331
Abstract: An elongated medical instrument for the examination or treatment of body cavities, in particular endoscopes, with a device to assist introduction by the principle of the tubular structure which becomes everted is described, which instrument comprises the device to assist introduction 1 being composed of a pipe 2 which is open at both ends and has pressure connectors 3 on the sides, and is composed of a flexible, eversible tubular structure 4 running through the pipe 2, the two ends 5, 6 of the tubular structure each being connected to one end 7, 8 of the pipe 2, the medical instrument 9 running through the pipe 2 inside the tubular structure 4, and the tubular structure 4 being folded in several double-layers in the region 10 of the distal end 11 of the medical instrument 9.

  • Patent number: 4122591
Abstract: A catheter including a flexible hose attached to one end of a rigid tube through which fluid pressure may be applied to invert said hose from an invaginated position within said tube to an exserted position extending outwardly of said tube has formed at the distal of said hose a valve which remains closed when the hose is in the invaginated position and which opens with the hose in its exserted position. The valve is formed integrally by portions of the hose distal end by cutting the distal end along a plane extending obliquely of the axis of the hose and forming the distal end walls of the hose in an abutting configuration defining therebetween an orifice which tends to remain closed by abutment of the distal end walls against each other when the hose is in its invaginated position, and particularly when fluid pressure is applied within the tube, with the abutting wall portions between which said orifice is defined tending to separate to open the orifice when the hose is exserted from the tube.
