  • Publication number: 20150031581
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of diagnostic methods, in particular to detection of biological molecules using mass spectroscopy (MS). Provided is an automated high-throughput method for quantitating a low molecular weight protein-bound biomarker directly in an isolated biological sample, comprising the steps of: (a) automated prepurification of the sample using an effective amount of an acid protease under conditions that allow for digestion of one or more binding proteins; (b) applying said protease-digested sample onto an on-line SPE column to capture at least part of said biomarker, followed by sequential washing of the solid phase; (c) eluting a fraction comprising said biomarker directly onto a liquid chromatography (LC) column comprising an apolar stationary phase and subjecting it to LC-MS or LC-MS-MS measurements to determine the amount of at least one biomarker; and (d) quantitating the biomarker(s).

  • Patent number: 8632733
Abstract: The present invention provides for a device and a kit for collecting body fluids. The device includes a body fluid collection portion comprising a body fluid absorbing material. The body fluid connecting portion has a free edge and is hingedly connected at the edge opposite to the free edge to a first support panel and a second support panel. A base panel is hingedly connected to the first support panel or the second support panel. In a first folded condition the body fluid collection portion is sandwiched between the first support panel and the second support panel in a substantially face contacting relationship.

  • Patent number: 7290967
Abstract: A dust extractor device of a router has rotatable dust trap part able to be connected with a foot plate of the router and arranged to the side of the routing tool underneath the foot plate, such dust trap part being open toward the routing tool. The foot plate has an access opening for the routing tool. The dust trap part is constituted by an extractor hood with a hood casing at least essentially centered on the axis of rotation and a hood floor. The hood casing and the hood floor extend in the peripheral direction through an angle equal to or less than 180°. The extractor hood is open at its top side and opens into the access opening. The top end region of the extractor hood is rotatably supported on a holder, which is detachably secured to the foot plate and in the position of use extends around the access opening.

  • Publication number: 20060081673
Abstract: The device for breaking a glass pane (90) comprises at least one first breaking body (71) that is displaceable along the front side (90a) of the glass pane, at least one second breaking body (72) that is displaceable along the back side (90b) of the glass pane, and a flexible support (49) that serves for supporting the glass pane and that is arranged between the two breaking bodies. According to the method for breaking a glass pane the two breaking bodies are displaced synchronously. The device and the method simplify the production of glass panes of any desired shape, particularly since a template corresponding to the shape is no longer required.
