  • Patent number: 6778883
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling the drive unit of a vehicle are provided, setpoint selection variables and characteristic variables being received, which represent the way the setpoint selection variable is set. In a coordinator, setpoint selection variables and characteristic variables are coordinated independently from one another and one of the variables is selected, on which the control of the drive unit is based. In a converter, the selected setpoint selection variable and characteristic variable are converted into control signals, the control signals being selected on the basis of the setpoint selection variable and the characteristic variable, optionally considering further operating variables, for example, the operating state of the drive unit.

  • Patent number: 6757608
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling operational sequences, particularly in a vehicle, at least one sensor having a connection unit being connected via a bus system to at least one control unit for controlling the operational sequences, the control unit likewise having a connection unit, and sensor information being transmitted to the control unit. The control unit reads in and/or processes the sensor information at specifiable synchronization points. A trigger signal is transmitted by the control unit via the bus system to the sensor in such a way with an allowance that the sensor information is available in a manner that it is able to be read in and/or processed exactly at the synchronization point for the control unit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 2001
Date of Patent: June 29, 2004

  • Publication number: 20040018912
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a drive arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine, said internal combustion engine acting via a variable transmission, particularly a continuously variable transmission, on drivable wheels or the like of a motor vehicle, in which a fuel feed to the internal combustion engine is at least reduced in dependence on an operating state and the internal combustion engine operates in overrun mode and a gear ratio of the transmission is adjusted, independently of driver intention, in dependence on at last one operating parameter of the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6220225
Abstract: The invention is directed to an electronic control apparatus for forming a fuel-metering signal for an internal combustion engine wherein increased fuel metering occurs during the start and post-start phases of the engine. With the electronic control apparatus, an index is formed for the pressure in the intake manifold of the engine and the gradient of the index is formed. The increased metering of fuel is reduced in dependence upon the gradient.
