  • Patent number: 5809077
Abstract: A circuit in which driver units are associated with data networks that are coupled through at least two single transmission channels is provided. The driver units have a logical signal input and a logical signal output on their sides facing away from the data network, with the signal input or signal output of one driver unit being connected with the signal output or signal input of the other driver unit through a signal transmission channel in each case for coupling each of two data networks. A logical coupling control unit is looped into the coupling signal transmission channels. The unit blocks the signal path to the other signal transmission channel when predetermined blocking signal information appears on one signal transmission channel. This ensures that feedback and oscillation effects are suppressed during the transmission of signals over the transmission channels. The circuit can be used for coupling CAN data networks in motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 5734658
Abstract: In a data communication system, in particular for a motor vehicle, the transmission lines that lead to the individual terminals are interconnected at a passive network in a star configuration and are there provided with frequency-dependent attenuation means, preferably ferrite beads. Good characteristic impedance adaptation is thus obtained for suppressing high-frequency distributing signals, while retaining free choice of the system parameters for the steady data symbolic state. The system may be enlarged by means of additional star networks into a tree or meshed structure.

  • Patent number: 5617282
Abstract: A data communication system, particularly for motor vehicles, includes a bus system with transmission lines which connect terminal devices to a common node. A protective circuit is connected between the transmission lines and a reference potential such as ground. If the ground connection of one of the terminal devices becomes detached, this protective circuit allows communication among the remaining terminal devices. The protective circuit is simultaneously secured against destruction in case of a short circuit.

  • Patent number: 4453038
Abstract: To control the earphone and microphone amplifiers as well as the balancing network of a subscriber's telephone terminal which is fed, through a subscriber line in communication systems, to the effect that the attenuations in subscriber lines of unequal lengths do not affect the transmission characteristics between the exchange and the subscriber, a circuit arrangement is provided for producing the necessary control function, which is simple, integratable and has minimum tolerances. Above a predetermined threshold value, a voltage proportional to the line current variations controls the emitter-to-base junction of two grounded-base transistors at the collectors of which the control current is available. The control currents produce their effect on the negative feedback of the microphone and the earphone amplifiers. An increasing line current causes the cotrol current to decrease, thereby effecting a stronger feedback and a reduced amplification.
