  • Patent number: 10490079
Abstract: A method for depicting sensor data of one or more first motor vehicle(s) via a man-machine interface of a second motor vehicle comprises depicting an image of at least part of surroundings of the second motor vehicle via the man-machine interface of the second motor vehicle. One or more first motor vehicle(s) in the surroundings is/are mapped at least in part. A user selects one or more of the mapped first motor vehicles to which respective point-to-point connections are set up that are used to send a request for information pertaining to available sensors and the properties thereof. Based on the responses, a schematic depiction of the surroundings of the second motor vehicle is created and reproduced that shows positions of the motor vehicles in the surroundings, the sensors available in the motor vehicles and areas within which the available sensors can pick up objects.

  • Patent number: 9626101
Abstract: In an input device for inputting characters on a user interface by handwriting, the movement of an input unit, in particular a finger of a user, is detected and converted to an input pattern corresponding to the detected movement. The input pattern is compared with stored characters of a character set, and if the input pattern sufficiently matches one of the stored characters, the character is selected. During the input, the user receives acoustic feedback about the input process, such that the acoustic feedback signal is output in a constant manner outside a defined edge area of the user interface and is output in an incremental or continuous manner at a decreasing distance from the edge in a defined edge area of the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20150206526
Abstract: A method for outputting information by synthetic speech during voice communication over a multidirectional connection between a communication device of a first subscriber and a communication device of at least one second subscriber, wherein by using a vehicle information system with integrated speech synthesis system present in a motor vehicle, at least one item of information delivered by the vehicle information system and selected by the first user via an input unit is converted into a speech synthesis signal by the speech synthesis system. The speech synthesis signal is mixed with a voice signal that can be input via a microphone, and is delivered as a speech output signal to the communication device, or the speech synthesis signal is delivered as a speech output signal to the communication device and the speech output signal is sent via the multi-directional connection to the communication device of at least the second user.

  • Patent number: 8165908
Abstract: An interactive software application provides workflow assistance related to the proper performance of work steps in the workflow. The workflow assistance may include step by step instructions detailing the proper operation of the user interface to complete the current work step. Additionally, the workflow assistance may include a virtual simulation demonstrating the proper operation of the user interface to complete the work step. Alternate workflow assistance may be provided for alternate manners of completing the work step. The software application also may initiate the performance of a work step via a primary operation on an icon associated with the work step. Workflow assistance associated with the work step may be presented via a secondary operation performed on the icon. Workflow assistance also may be directly accessible from the user interface or from a help menu superimposed upon other images displayed on the user interface.

  • Patent number: 6687869
Abstract: A method for evaluating a presentation layer data unit wherein, in order to evaluate a presentation layer data unit, which contains application-oriented messages that are coded according to a predefined coding protocol and destined for at least one application process running on a Q3 platform, and which is received via an association established on a Q3 interface between the Q3 platform and a partner Q3 platform, the Q3 platform checks the format of the data unit for compliance with the coding protocol. Provided there are no errors in the coding, the user data contained in the data unit is decoded, the application-oriented messages are determined, and these messages are forwarded to the appropriate application process(es). However, if an error concerning the user data is detected in the coding, then the evaluation is terminated and a corresponding error report is sent to the application process concerned.

  • Patent number: 6289215
Abstract: The method defines operating a telecommunication network. Application objects which are to be processed using the filter conditions in a maintenance message are selected in an exchange from a control computer. In the exchange, a central interface program uses the filter condition to select an application program in a preselection process. When the application program is executed, the application objects to be processed are then selected and processed.
