  • Patent number: 7513571
Abstract: A seat assembly includes a seat element constituting a component of the seat structure of a motor vehicle seat, a tubular drive element connected pivotably around its longitudinal axis to the seat element that constitutes a component of a displacement arrangement for an adjustable seat part, for example, for a height adjustable seat cushion, as well as a preferably electrically operated weight sensor for the detection of seat occupancy using the weight of a person sitting in the corresponding motor vehicle seat. Through the detection of seat occupancy, it is possible to control various functional groups of a motor vehicle as a function of seat occupancy, such as, for example, automatic occupancy- and/or weight-dependent adjustment of certain seat components as well as the occupancy- and/or weight-dependent deployment of an airbag module.

  • Publication number: 20090000424
Abstract: A spindle or worm drive for adjusting devices, especially seat adjustment devices, window lifters and sliding roofs, in motor vehicles. The drive includes a fixed spindle or relatively fixed toothed rack which is secured to the second of the two parts. The gear elements are mounted in a housing which includes at least two plates that can be secured to each other by plug-in connectors. The connectors are also configured as supporting joints that absorb the forces of the gear.

  • Patent number: 7404537
Abstract: A device for guiding two sub-assemblies of a motor vehicle displaceable in relation to one another. Said device comprises two guide elements positioned at a distance from one another in a transversal direction that is perpendicular to the guide direction and two guide units, in which a respective guide element is mounted so that it is displaceable in the guide direction. The guide elements are intercoupled and stops are allocated to the guide elements on the guide units, said stops limiting a displacement of the guide elements in relation to the respective guide units in the transversal direction, perpendicular to the guide direction. A first of the two guide elements in the allocated guide unit is mounted perpendicularly to the guide direction with a negligible displacement margin. The second guide element is mounted in the allocated guide unit with a greater displacement margin in the transversal direction.

  • Patent number: 7143513
Abstract: A drive for adjusting devices includes gear elements mounted in a gear housing which includes at least two plates that can be secured to each other by plug connectors. The connectors are also configured as supporting joints that absorb the forces of the gear elements. A method for assembling the gear housing includes prefitting the gear elements and the housing plates by fitting the housing plates together about the gear elements with plug connectors, holding the housing plates with a holding device with sufficiently light holding forces so that the housing plates can be aligned when the gear elements are turned, turning the gear elements for the purpose of aligning bearing points of the gear elements, and securing the position of the gear elements and the housing plates relative to each other by permanently fixing the position of the housing plates in all three-dimensional directions through action on the plug connectors.
