  • Publication number: 20240111801
Abstract: Displaying geographic search results incudes receiving, from a server system and in response to a query related to the geographic area, a plurality of search results; providing a digital map of the geographic area via a user interface; displaying the plurality of search results as visual indicators at respective geographic locations on the digital map; and providing a user interface element which, when selected by a user, causes removal from the digital map a portion of the plurality of search results that is not relevant to a certain geographic context.

  • Publication number: 20240086040
Abstract: A mapping system allows a user to interact with any location on a digital map and present the user with location related information associated with the selected location. The location related information may be in the form or a card, pop-up, image, or other graphic and may be displayed on the map at or near the selected location, around the map, etc. The displayed location related information may include predetermined or pre-stored data about the location or may include location related information collected and generated on the fly in response to the user interaction with the digital map. The displayed location related information may be displayed in the same graphical format on the digital map regardless of whether location related information is predetermined information about the location that already exists or information that is collected and generated on the fly in response to the user interaction.

  • Patent number: 11841895
Abstract: A response to a first query related to a geographic area, and search results responsive to a second query related to the geographic area, are received from a server system. A digital map of the geographic is provided via a user interface. A focus is provided to the first query to illustrate the response on the digital map, where the response defines a geographic context. A subset of the search results is identified based on a relationship to the geographic context. The search results in the identified subset are visually emphasized on the digital map relative to the rest of the search results.

  • Patent number: 9378504
Abstract: A mapping system determines points of interest that are related to a selected point of interest within a digital map displayed at a client computing device. The system receives a request for mapping system data from a client computing device. The request indicates a selected point of interest (POI) that is displayed at a geographic location within the digital map. The selected POI corresponds to a list of words describing characteristics of the selected POI, and each word corresponding to the selected POI word includes a base score describing an importance of the word compared to a list of all words corresponding to displayable POIs. The system determines POIs that are related to the selected POI by comparing base scores of the selected POI words to base scores of related POI words, where the related POIs each include at least one word in common with the selected POI.

  • Patent number: 9075517
Abstract: A system for enabling the drag and drop behavior detects a cursor over a non-input element and creates a container to receive an object dragged by the cursor. When the cursor drops an object on the non-input element, the container receives and stores the dropped object. The system then removes the container and provides the stored object to input field associated with the non-input element.
