Patent number: 11697115Abstract: A dispensing device which has a dispensing channel extending between a supply opening and an output opening into the course of which a pump, a selection valve and a dispensing valve are connected. The selection valve is also connected to a pressurised air source. The dispensing device allows a dispensed output of a fluid, wherein a buffer channel portion is filled by the pump in a pump dispensing phase, to which buffer channel portion pressure is applied from the pressurised air source during a pressurised air dispensing phase such that a precise fluid output is subsequently possible by clocked actuation of the dispensing valve until the target fluid amount has been reached.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2018Date of Patent: July 11, 2023Assignee: FESTO SE & CO. KGInventors: Bengt Erich Wunderlich, Bernhard Vogt, Duc-Thang Vu

Patent number: 9017218Abstract: In a motor vehicle having a manual transmission, for, in particular, limiting the engine speed during the start-up operation when fulfilling at least one permission criterion for the engine torque, the criterion depending on the driving state of the motor vehicle, a default engine torque is preset, which is specified according to at least one engine characteristic value and which can be reduced with regard to the set engine torque called for by the position of the accelerator pedal of the motor vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2005Date of Patent: April 28, 2015Assignee: Audi AGInventors: Georg Geywitz, Herbert Meyer, Bernhard Vogt, Michael Muhler

Patent number: 6877487Abstract: An internal combustion engine (10) is operated by a method wherein the fuel is supplied via a magnetic valve (28) having a coil (34). The injected fuel quantity is influenced by the duration of the drive of the magnetic valve (28). In the method, the temperature (evtmod) of a region (26) of the magnetic valve (28) is determined and the drive duration is corrected in dependence upon temperature. In order to make the correction still more precise, a temperature (evtmod) of the magnetic valve (28) is determined from at least one usually measured temperature (tans, tmot) and the drive duration (ti_tvu_w) is so corrected (tvsp_w) that the temperature dependency of the characteristics of the magnetic coil (34) of the magnetic valve (28) is considered. Furthermore, a model is suggested in which (starting from an operating temperature) the temperature trace is simulated after shut-off of the engine and/or for the restart of the engine by means of two factors for the warmup and cool down.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2001Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Bernhard Vogt, Achim Guenther, Manfred Hundhausen, Thomas Wenzler

Patent number: 6862515Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine (10), the fuel is supplied via at least one injection valve (32). The injected fuel quantity is influenced by the injection duration (ti). To reduce costs for the design and acquisition of the injection valve (32), it is proposed to detect as to whether a requested injection duration (ti) of the injection valve (32) is greater than a maximum possible injection duration (timxth). In this case, an intervention (64) takes place with which a desired mixture composition (rlmaxti) is produced.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2001Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Bernhard Vogt

Patent number: 6148615Abstract: In the boost pressure control system there is generated, from the system deviation between a reference boost pressure and an actual boost pressure, a manipulated variable for an actuator that acts on the exhaust flow guided through the turbine of an exhaust-driven turbocharger. To allow the boost pressure control system to operate over a wide working range without allowing the control action to become too slow or allowing control overshoots to occur, the manipulated variable, or one or more other variable(s) constituting the manipulated variable, is/are transformed in a characteristics map into values such that after transformation, a linear correlation exists between the manipulated variable and the controlled variable.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1999Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Bernhard Vogt, Michael Baeuerle

Patent number: 6131546Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle with the engine developing a torque during the operation thereof includes deriving a desired value of the torque of the engine from operating variables. The desired value of the torque is made available by at least adjusting the air supply and the ignition angle of the engine. The efficiency of the engine is deteriorated in at least one operating state of the engine compared to the efficiency in operating states outside of the one operating state by retarding the ignition angle and increasing the air supply whereby the torque developed by the engine remains essentially constant. The presence of the one operating state is detected when a startup intent of the driver of the vehicle is recognized.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1999Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Bernhard Vogt, Werner Hess
