  • Patent number: 9528259
Abstract: A sewer cleaning vehicle is disclosed. In one aspect, the sewer cleaning vehicle has a refuse storage tank having a first end with an opening. The sewer cleaning vehicle may also have a recycled water storage tank and a packaged liquid reclamation system for cleaning and transferring water from the refuse tank to the recycled water storage tank. In one embodiment, a hinged cover having a first side and a second side is pivotally mounted to the storage tank. The hinged cover can be movable between a first position in which the hinged cover covers the storage tank opening and a second position in which the storage tank opening is uncovered by the hinged cover. A transfer pump and a separator are supported by the hinged cover and are in fluid communication with the refuse tank through a port in the hinged cover.

  • Patent number: 6792646
Abstract: A tank truck for collecting and transporting flowable material, the tank truck including a tank for storing flowable material and a suction hose connected to the tank so that at least a portion of the suction hose extends into the tank. A drive assembly engageable with the suction hose is provided for drawing the suction hose into and out of the tank, thereby varying the length of the suction hose outside the tank. The boom preferably includes a boom tube through which the suction hose extends. Also an extendable nozzle assembly may be attached to an end of the suction hose outside the tank. The drive assembly may take various forms and may be supported on the end of the boom. A combination of movement of the suction hose into and out of the tank, in combination with the extendable nozzle assembly, varies the effective length of the suction hose outside the tank.

  • Publication number: 20040055637
Abstract: The invention provides a vacuum safety valve for a vacuum system that can be used for debris collection, and which is especially useful in trench rescue. Under predetermined vacuum level conditions (e.g., when the airflow path of a vacuum system is blocked by an obstruction), the safety valve is designed to automatically open radial ports around the circumference of the safety valve. When the radial ports are opened, the vacuum level in the vacuum system between the obstruction and the safety valve is at least significantly reduced thereby preventing full vacuum from acting on the obstruction. In a preferred aspect, the safety valve further comprises a manual vacuum release such that an operator can trip the release and reduce the vacuum level in a vacuum system comprising the safety valve. The invention also provides a related vacuum system and/or vacuum rescue system including additional elements and methods of debris removal using the inventive systems and nozzles.
