Patent number: 11486203Abstract: A method is for performing work in a well and on a vessel. A wellbore assembly such as a tool string is suspended on a first flexible elongate member from the vessel. The wellbore assembly is used to perform work in the well. The wellbore assembly such as a tool string is suspended on a second flexible elongate member from the vessel. The wellbore assembly on the first flexible elongate member is removed from the well, and after the removal, the wellbore assembly on the second flexible elongate member is inserted into the well. The inserted wellbore assembly in the well can then be used to perform further work. The wellbore assemblies may be deployed and retrieved on independently operable wirelines. A related vessel and apparatus is also described.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2019Date of Patent: November 1, 2022Assignee: TIOS ASInventors: Bernt Gramstad, Trond Eivind Larsen, Kjartan Ertenstein, Vidar Haugen, Ove Kalvatn, Anders Olsen

Patent number: 9347294Abstract: A method and system are for establishing and operating a riser less coiled tubing intervention arrangement from a surface vessel, the vessel having a deck and a coiled tubing reel holding a coiled tubing, and where a subsea injector is connectable to a head of a subsea borehole. The method includes: arranging; the coiled tubing in a surface injector and the subsea injector, attaching, the surface injector to a lifting tackle of the vessel; after connecting a tool string to the coiled tubing, lowering the coiled tubing tool string and the subsea injector through the sea to the head by running the surface injector while paying out coiled tubing from the coiled tubing reel; and inserting, the tool string in the head and connecting the subsea injector to the head.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2012Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: Agat Technology ASInventor: Bernt Gramstad

Patent number: 7963340Abstract: Disclosed herein is a temporary well isolation device, which is sealingly disposable in downhole tubing, and which has a housing with an axial passage. The temporary well isolation device also has frangible barrier element within the housing, where the frangible barrier element is sealingly engaged in the passage blocking fluid flow through the passage. The frangible barrier element bears a load from fluid pressure. The temporary well isolation device also has a disengageable constraint in contact with a frangible barrier element so as to redirect the load on the frangible barrier element from a first component of the load to a second component of the load, thereby preventing rupture of the frangible barrier element. Also disclosed herein is a method for disintegrating a frangible barrier element disposed in a passage of a temporary well isolation device.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: June 21, 2011Assignee: Weatherford/Lamb, Inc.Inventors: Bernt Gramstad, Terje Baustad, Tarald Gudmestad
