  • Patent number: 8272598
Abstract: A load disconnection lock having a locking device which is secured against unlocking by means of a safety device as long as the tensile load is not less than a predefined minimum value, and which unlocks automatically when the tensile load is less than the predefined minimum value. A second safety device is provided for the locking device and has a fluid-filled housing in which a piston is guided. The piston has a tensile load applied to it and has a hole as a flow channel for the fluid, such that the fluid can be exchanged between two housing subareas on both sides of the piston. The piston is connected to an activation slide which releases the locking device as soon as the piston has moved through a predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 7048276
Abstract: A flying device for IR flying target representation with at least one infrared radiator (2). An infrared radiator (2) is arranged inside the exhaust gas flow of a convected heat-generating unit so that the exhaust gas stream completely encloses the surface of the infrared radiator (2) exposed to airflow.

  • Patent number: 5964432
Abstract: An infrared seeker head for a missile includes a viewing lens system and a focal plane array on which the visual field of the lens system is focussed. The image acquired by the focal plane array is displayed on a video display unit. Mounted on the missile launch tube in the beam path of the seeker head viewing lens system is a wide angle lens, which can be retracted to remove it from the seeker head beam path. The wide angle lens enables the gunner to view a large visual field initially. Then, when a "suspicious" object is detected, it can be removed to allow a positive identification of the type of target. A pair of rotating optical wedges are disposed in the beam path of the seeker head, so that its relatively smaller visual field can be diverted to compensate for maneuvering of the target.

  • Patent number: 5874727
Abstract: The invention provides a method for continuous acquisition, identification, and attack of helicopters operating with concealment, using a missile with an integrated target search head computer control. The visual field of the search head is adapted optimally in both the search phase and in the target tracking phase. During the search phase, the missile travels a flight path roughly parallel to the surface of the ground, and the axis of the line of sight is directed diagonally downward at a suitable angle. During a target tracking, the line of sight runs collinearly with the missile axis. The natural radiation of the helicopter modulated by the rotor blade movement is used for target recognition.

  • Patent number: 5400134
Abstract: An infrared search device for the detection and engagement of enemy helicopters is so designed that an IR Sensor in the focal plane of the IR Optics of the search head includes a 2-demensional matrix of point-shaped detector cells. The detector cells operate in a wavelength range of between 3 and 14 um or a fraction thereof. To determine the offset angle of the helicopter from the optical axis of the device, the cells are interrogated individually and in succession by an analysis unit in such a manner that all measurement values are obtained almost simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5317163
Abstract: A decoy for misdirecting heat-seeking and radar-echo-seeking missiles comprised of as main components a radar reflector and an engine and capable of simulating an aircraft in the infra-red wavelength of 1.5 to 2.5 m.mu.; 3-5 m.mu.; and 8-14 m.mu. and simultaneously in the radar band. The decoy is spectrally adapted in the infra-red range and is contoured to exhibit a large reflective surface with a doppler effect in the radar band. The parts are constructed so that the desired configuration and aerodynamic stability is achieved only when the decoy is prepared for operation. A plume covering an appropriately large area is produced and the content of the exhaust includes carbon dioxide and/or metallic powder to a high IR radiation of the plume.

  • Patent number: 4681599
Abstract: Waste or refuse is fed to a first reaction chamber communicating with a second one through openings in the lower portion of a partition between the chambers and hot metal or the like is fed into at least one of the two chambers; gas is extracted from the second chamber and the pressure conditions are such that different liquid levels obtain in the two chambers causing reaction gas to bubble through the openings and the liquid in the second chamber. The principle product gases extracted are hydrogen, carbonoxide and inert gases. Lime is preferably added to the waste to be processed.
