  • Patent number: 8440945
Abstract: A control unit for an electric household appliance for setting functions and operating parameters. The control unit includes at least one control knob located on a display panel by magnetic force. The control knob capable of being pushed by an operator from an initial position into a selecting position to select a function, such as a specific cooking plate and capable of being rotated about its axis to set an operating parameter of the function, such as the cooking temperature of the cooking plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 14, 2005
Date of Patent: May 14, 2013
Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH
Inventors: Peter Blumenthal, Bernward Reinker, Bernd Stitzl
  • Patent number: 7791356
Abstract: A capacitive proximity switch has an electrically conductive sensor surface, which is covered by an electrically non-conductive covering plate and which serves as a part of a capacitor with a capacitance that varies with proximity. The proximity switch includes a reference sensor surface for generating a reference signal for determining an actuation state of the proximity switch. Signal portions of the reference signal are proportional to the capacitance of a reference capacitor formed with the reference sensor surface, and the capacitance of the reference capacitor is determined by surrounding conditions of the sensor surface.

    Filed: August 17, 2006
Date of Patent: September 7, 2010
Assignee: BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH
Inventors: Jörg Grosser, Wilfried Klopfer, Bernward Reinker, Hans-Jürgen Romanowski
  • Patent number: 7777502
Abstract: A capacitive proximity switch has an electrically conductive sensor surface, which is covered by an electrically non-conductive covering plate and which serves as a part of a capacitor with a capacitance that varies with proximity. A household appliance is equipped with a proximity switch of this type. The sensor surface has an active shielding, which is formed by a shielding surface to which a clock signal is applied at the same time as it is applied to the sensor surface.

  • Patent number: 7059003
Abstract: The invention allows a user of a program-controlled household appliance to obtain comprehensive information concerning different working process parameters by having the appliance include a display device for acoustic signals or optical characters and a memory area of the program control device, which is configured for saving set program parameters and measurement and operational values of the actuators and sensors participating in the program that is running. For such a purpose, the display device contains a display element (field), which is activated upon completion of the working process and contains the comment “Log”, indicating the option of issuing information relating to measurement and operational values that have been saved prior to and/or during the last completed working process.
