  • Publication number: 20040215282
Abstract: The invention is directed to connector module designs for facilitating electrical connection between a medical lead and circuitry of an implantable medical device (IMD). The connector module includes a channel for receiving a medical lead and one or more electrical contact elements are disposed along the channel to electrically couple to the lead when the lead is inserted into the channel. The connector module is formed with a hole to provide access to the channel, and a set screw can be disposed in the hole to secure the lead in place once it is inserted. A plug element covers the set screw and is formed with a slit that allows a tool to be inserted through the plug element to tighten the set screw. Moreover, a retention element retains the plug element in the connector module.
