  • Publication number: 20250113773
Abstract: A feeder for an agricultural harvester includes a feeder housing, a front shaft, a rear shaft, at least one feeder loop, and a plurality of feeder slats. The feeder loop is drivable around the rear and front shafts. The feeder slats are mounted to the feeder loop and configured for moving harvested crop over a bottom of the feeder housing, from the front shaft towards the rear shaft. An actuator is coupled between the feeder housing and the front shaft and configured to adjust a tension in the feeder loop by adjusting a distance between the front shaft and the rear shaft. A sensor is operative to generate a sensor signal representative of a force acting on the actuator and configured to, in dependence of the sensor signal, control at least one operational parameter of the agricultural harvester other than the tension in the at least one feeder loop.

  • Publication number: 20240260508
Abstract: An automation system is configured to automatically adjust an operational setting of an agricultural vehicle while performing an operation in a field in order to adjust an operational output parameter of the agricultural vehicle. A method of training the automation system comprises receiving operational information including at least a location of the agricultural vehicle and georeferenced field information. The method further comprises, based on the location of the agricultural vehicle and the georeferenced field information, deciding to run a training sequence. The training sequence comprises measuring the operational output parameter, changing the operational setting, monitoring a subsequent change of the operational output parameter, and updating the automation system based on the changing of the operational setting and the subsequent change of the operational parameter.

  • Publication number: 20240260509
Abstract: An agricultural system for monitoring throughput of a feeder configured for use with a harvester performing a harvesting operation within a field may include a feeder housing and a feed assembly configured to direct a first flow of harvested materials and a second flow of harvested materials through the feeder. The agricultural system may further include a first sensor configured to generate first data indicative of the first flow of harvested materials through a first lateral section of the feeder. Similarly, the agricultural system may include a second sensor configured to generate second data indicative of the second flow of harvested materials through a second lateral section of the feeder. Additionally, the agricultural system may include a computing system configured to determine whether the harvester is on-row based at least in part on the first data and the second data.

  • Publication number: 20240155975
Abstract: A system for sensor-based monitoring of a harvesting operation includes a header having a rotating reel, an optical sensor and a rotational reel position sensor. The optical sensor is configured to capture optical data in response to a trigger signal associated with an output signal of the position sensor indicative of a rotational position of the reel. A related method includes triggering the optical sensor when the reel is arranged in at least one predetermined rotational position and capturing optical data by the optical sensor when triggered.
