  • Patent number: 6854444
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling a drive unit are suggested wherein a maximum permissible value of an output quantity is determined. This maximum permissible value is compared to the actual value and, when the permissible value is exceeded by the actual value, reaction measures are initiated. The maximum permissible value is filtered at least in one operating state in accordance with filter means including a filter and a dead zone member. Furthermore, the maximum permissible value is continuously reduced in dependence upon the approaching of at least one quantity to a limit value. This quantity represents an operating state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 17, 2001
Date of Patent: February 15, 2005
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Frank Plagge, Ralf Dunke, Torsten Bauer, Frank Bederna, Berthold Steinmann

  • Patent number: 6285946
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling the drive unit of a vehicle are suggested wherein a maximum permissible torque is pregiven and, when this maximum permissible torque is exceeded, the torque of the drive unit is reduced. The maximum permissible torque is formed at least in dependence upon the position of the operator-controlled element. The maximum permissible torque is dependent upon the desired torque of at least one external function when this desired torque is greater than the permissible torque dependent upon the position of the operator-controlled element.

  • Patent number: 6076500
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling the torque of a drive unit of a motor vehicle. The desired torque or the actual torque of the drive unit is set into a relationship with a pregiven maximum permissible torque and the actual torque is limited or is reduced when the desired torque or the actual torque exceeds the maximum permissible torque. In one operating state, wherein the torque of the drive unit is increased by an additional loading, the maximum permissible torque is increased.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 1998
Date of Patent: June 20, 2000
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH

  • Patent number: 5755201
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling the power of an internal combustion engine. In the method and arrangement, the power-adjusting element for adjusting the supply of air to the engine is adjusted in the context of a load control loop. When the load detection becomes disabled, measures are taken for ensuring operational reliability and an emergency method for adjusting the throttle flap is described in the fault situation.
