  • Patent number: 4523373
Abstract: A method of assembling an actuating lever (10) to a potentiometer (12) for use in electronic engine control systems for internal combustion engines as a throttle position sensor to generate electrical signals indicating the angular position (A.degree.) of the throttle blade. In such systems, there is usually one known or "home" position from which the position of the throttle blade is determined in order to determine the injection demands of the engine. The method herein is for accurately locating an actuating lever (10) to the moveable contact of the potentiometer (12) so that at the home position, the signal generated by the potentiometer is a known value. In addition, the potentiometer only needs to be adjusted on the throttle body once it is assembled thereto to account for throttle body tolerances, thereby satisfying rigid engine control requirements which require the positioning of the potentiometer to be accurately known.

  • Patent number: 4222615
Abstract: An adaptive braking control circuit and a solenoid valve actuated by the control circuit is protected by a fuse which is blown when a malfunction of the solenoid exists. However, if the voltage produced by the vehicle electrical supply falls below a predtermined level insufficient to actuate the solenoid valve, the adaptive braking control circuit is disabled without blowing the fuse. A control circuit is provided which senses a malfunction in the solenoid, and which generates a fuse blowing signal which is used to actuate a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) in order to blow the fuse. However, under the low voltage condition, this fuse blowing signal is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 4159505
Abstract: A package assembly for an electronic mechanism includes a housing which receives an electronic circuit board. Studs carried by the housing are connected to the circuit board by a flexible mechanism so that vibrations are dampened and thermal expansion of the connecting mechanism is accommodated. The connecting mechanism not only supports the circuit board within the housing, but also provides an electrical connection between the terminals on the circuit board and the studs, to which the electrical leads are installed which connect the package to other electronic components.
