  • Patent number: 8421593
Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for authenticating objects, comprising receiving an encrypted object identifier associated with an unknown object having multiple components, decrypting the encrypted object identifier using a first public key of a first public/private key pair to obtain unknown object information including unknown identification data for the multiple components, inspecting the unknown object to obtain actual object information including actual identification data for the multiple components, and comparing the unknown identification data with the actual identification data to determine whether the unknown object is an authentic object, wherein an authentic object has an object identifier generated using a first private key of the first public/private key pair to encrypt the actual object information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2008
Date of Patent: April 16, 2013

  • Patent number: 6826438
Abstract: A method for designing a control of a complete process (which can have a number of individual processes) can include: identifying functionalities of the individual processes; performing a validation by automatically verifying future interplay of the functionalities in accordance with an input to the complete process and producing a validation result; and determining data for future controlling of the complete process from the validation result. A process unit can be arranged to carry out such a method.

  • Patent number: 5706144
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for automating the orientation of a selected mirror mounted on a vehicle. The apparatus includes location apparatus for sensing the location of the driver's eyes, a computer controller, and a mirror positioning mechanism. The location apparatus may include various types of distance sensors and orientation detectors. The controller determines the desired orientation of the selected mirror based upon the position of the driver's eyes, known vehicle parameters and vision parameters, and generates control signals. The mirror positioning mechanism receives the control signals and positions the mirror in response thereto.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 7, 1995
Date of Patent: January 6, 1998
