  • Patent number: 5515090
Abstract: A capillary unit for an ink jet printer, having a nozzle for spraying a jet of ink onto a record carrier. The jet of ink breaks up into a series of droplets at a droplet formation point in front of the nozzle. A charging electrode, with which the ink droplets are selectively charged for subsequent electrical deflection, is arranged in the area of the droplet deflection point. The charging electrode is devised in the form of a plate, arranged perpendicular to the path of the jet, with a through hole for passage of the droplets. The charging electrode is further devised with at least one groove running from the hole to the outer edge of the electrode.

  • Patent number: 4243150
Abstract: A bottle seal for ink bottles used in automatic ink dispensing systems. The seal includes a stopper insertable in the neck of the bottle terminating in a lip seal with a central slot for receipt of an ink withdrawal needle. A plastic or metal foil seal overlies the stopper sealing the slit area. A resilient disk overlies the foil and has a central slit area aligned with the stopper slit area. A rigid cap receives the stopper, foil and disk and attaches the same to the bottle neck, the cap having an opening aligned with the slit areas.

  • Patent number: 4163500
Abstract: A bottle seal particularly adapted for ink bottles used in automatic ink feed systems wherein the bottle seal is to be pierced by an ink withdrawal needle, the seal having a stopper which has a portion extending into the bottle neck terminating in a lip seal. The stopper portion has an outer diameter groove adjacent the lip seal with at least one air channel communicating from the groove to the exterior to allow aeration of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 4100550
Abstract: A liquid jet recorder having a capillary tube with one end connected by a filter to a liquid pump and the other end formed in a nozzle for directing a recording jet of liquid onto a recording carrier, an electromagnet having a core and winding and a permanent magnet carried by the capillary tube and arranged in an air gap of the electromagnet characterized by the core of the electromagnet comprising an inner tube having the winding arranged thereon with the inner tube and winding coaxially surrounding the capillary tube. Preferably, the electromagnet includes an outer tube having an extension and the inner tube has an extension which forms the poles of the electromagnet and includes a centering sleeve of non-magnetizable material arranged between the inner and outer tube to determine the air gap between the two extensions.
