    Abstract: In fishing reels, more particularly non-rotary type reels, there is provided a device comprising a disengageable anti-reverse mechanism in the form of a pawl and ratchet mechanism and being characterized by an actuating means operable by the hand crank of the fishing reel via a transmission rotatable by the crank, and by means of which the pawl of the anti-reverse mechanism is rockable between an operative anti-reverse position and an inoperative position in relation to the ratchet, depending on the direction in which the crank is rotated.
