Publication number: 20060135175Abstract: A method and an apparatus for updating the location of a plurality of mobile stations (107) in a moving craft or vehicle (105). Each time a new mobile station (107) is attached to a common terminal (103) located in the moving craft or vehicle, an initial location updating message is transmitted to a satellite system (101). Information based on the initial location updating message is then stored in the satellite system (101). When the common terminal (103) enters a new location area, a location updating message is transmitted including an identity of the common terminal (103). The satellite system (101) can then derive the new location for each of the attached mobile stations (107) based on the transmitted location updating message and the stored information on the mobile stations (107) currently being attached to the common terminal (103).Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2001Publication date: June 22, 2006Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Anders Lundstrom, Boo Shin, Bertil Nilsson

Patent number: 6468807Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out mixing in a thin liquid layer, which is arranged between essentially parallel walls at a capillary distance from each other. The mixing is carried out by subjecting the walls to a motion essentially in the plane of the liquid layer, balancing the motion against the capillary force exerted by the walls on the liquid, and selecting the interface between the liquid layer and the surrounding medium so that it functions as an elastic membrane. The invention also concerns a cuvette which is designed for mixing according to the method.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2000Date of Patent: October 22, 2002Assignee: Hemocue ABInventors: Johnny Svensson, Bertil Nilsson, Per Olsson, Lars Jansson

Patent number: 6333007Abstract: A photometer for determining the transmission of a liquid sample in a microcuvette (7, 20, 22) has a cavity for a capillary layer of the liquid sample with a free liquid surface extended transversely of the principal plane of the cavity. The cavity is initially prepared with a reagent to achieve a reaction, which affects the transmission of the liquid sample for indicating its contents of a predetermined substance. The photometer has a holder (6) for the microcuvette and measuring means (9, 10) for measuring the transmission of a bundle of rays directed towards the microcuvette. The cuvette holder (6) is mounted on bearings for vibration in a direction having a component, which extends in the plane of the free liquid surface and is parallel with the principal plane of the cavity, thereby achieving a mixing to accelerate the dissolution and the reaction.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2000Date of Patent: December 25, 2001Assignee: Hemocue ABInventors: Johnny Svensson, Bertil Nilsson, Per Olsson, Lars Jansson, Bo Jönsson

Patent number: 5970160Abstract: Earmuff and method for changing the noise attenuation characteristic of an earmuff. The change is obtained by providing foam-filled sealing ring of the earmuff in the annular covering thereof with a large number of ventilation apertures which are uniformly distributed along the sealing ring, thereby affecting the air spring action of the sealing ring. The ventilation apertures communicate with the environment without communicating with interior of the earmuff. By reducing the air spring action to a considerable extent, the low frequency attenuation is improved. The communication with the environment provides "acoustic ducts", particular by using special ventilation ducts which can be dimensioned to give a selective noise transmission, dependent on the duct resonance, into the sealing ring, thereby selectively affecting the noise attenuation characteristic.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Dalloz Safety ABInventors: Lars Bertil Nilsson, Per Olof Hiselius

Patent number: 5960004Abstract: A software architecture for use in program controlled telecommunications switching exchanges in which application modules are employed to provide services to users of a particular communications application. Resource modules provide specific functional elements of communications services to the application modules by having access to and control over the exchange hardware. Network protocols provide communication between the application modules within the exchange and interfaces provide communications between the resource modules and between application modules and resource modules within the exchange.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 1997Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Sune Ramstrom, Johan Tornstrom, Arne kerfeldt, Lars Bengtsson, Steve Doe, Jan Gustafsson, Svante Haraldson, Lars Kari, Chris Kemp, Jorgen Lantto, Johan Lindstrom, Bertil Nilsson, Peter Ohman, Jan van der Meer, Paul van Hal

Patent number: 5809129Abstract: In a call and connection separated network, a method of providing distribution of resources of a physical network among different logical networks which are using the physical network for establishing connections. All of the physical resources of the physical network are mapped onto a single logical network description that will comprise nodes, trunk groups interconnecting the nodes, and resource pools. The different logical networks are created by routing tables located at each of the nodes. The routing tables are provided with a fixed maximum percentage figure relating to the maximum amount by which an individual logical network is allowed to use a common resource thus distributing the resources between the different logical networks.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1995Date of Patent: September 15, 1998Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventors: Erik Staffan Andersson, Nils Bertil Nilsson

Patent number: 5730686Abstract: An exercise apparatus comprises a frame (1), a loading assembly (2) for variable adjustment of the rotation resistance about a shaft (3) associated with the assembly, and a gripping device (8) connected to the shaft. In the exercise apparatus according to the invention, the gripping device (8) is part of a series of such devices. Coupling means (9, 10) are arranged for quick-release coupling of the different gripping devices (8) to the shaft (3) in the loading assembly (2), which by frictional engagement generates the rotation resistances, which are independently adjustable in the two directions of rotation (6, 7) of the shaft (3).Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1997Date of Patent: March 24, 1998Inventor: Bertil Nilsson
