  • Publication number: 20200385831
Abstract: A process for refining a nitrogen-containing metal alloy using arc remelting of a consumable electrode in a furnace, comprising: providing a consumable electrode of the metal alloy; providing a second electrode; providing a controlled atmosphere within the furnace; striking an arc between the consumable electrode and the second electrode to melt the consumable electrode and thereby form a molten metal alloy pool; maintaining the arc between the consumable electrode and the molten metal alloy pool; delivering the molten metal alloy into a mould and casting an ingot of refined metal alloy, wherein providing the controlled atmosphere comprises flowing Ar gas through the furnace at an Ar gas pressure of 1-500 Pa.

  • Publication number: 20070158045
Abstract: The invention relates to an edge-provided tool, such as a doctor blade, for use as wiping tool in the production of pulp and/or paper in different stages of the production process. It consists of an edge-provided strip of steel, the edge portion of which has been provided with a wear-resistant coating applied by means of laser technique, so that metallurgical binding is present between said coating and the steel strip, whereby a level of surface hardness of more than 850 UV being attained. Thereby, wear-resistant doctor blades having a long service life have been obtained.

  • Patent number: 5582656
Abstract: A duplex stainless steel alloy has been provided which contains in % by weight:--C max. 0.05--Si max. 0.8--Mn 0.3-4--Cr 28-35--Ni 3-10--Mo 1.0-4.0--N 0.2-0.6--Cu max. 1.0--W max. 2.0--S max 0.010--Ce 0-0.2the remainder being Fe and normally occurring impurities and additives. The ferrite content is 30-70% by volume, balance austenite. The steel alloy is very suitable in the environments that exist at the production of urea, in which it may advantageously replace the austenitic steels used so far.
