  • Publication number: 20240324505
Abstract: A system for cleaning sensor assemblies of an agricultural harvester includes an elevator assembly configured to convey harvested crop material, with the elevator including an elevator frame. Furthermore, the system includes a sensor assembly positioned within the elevator assembly, with the sensor assembly including a weigh plate coupled to the elevator frame such that the weigh plate and the elevator frame define a gap therebetween. The sensor assembly further includes a load sensor coupled between the elevator frame and the weigh plate such that the load sensor is configured to generate data indicative of a weight of the harvested crop material present on the weigh plate. Additionally, the system includes a cleaning device configured to remove debris from the gap.

  • Publication number: 20240292788
Abstract: A combine harvester comprises a threshing system and a cleaning system. The cleaning system comprises a crop flow sensing system configured to monitor a lateral distribution of crop on the cleaning system. The threshing system comprises a return pan configured to guide the threshed and separated grain in a forward direction towards the cleaning system. The combine harvester further comprises a hillside compensation system, configured to control the cleaning system in order to adjust the lateral distribution of crop on the cleaning system. The hillside compensation system is further configured to control the return pan separately from the cleaning system and depending on the lateral distribution of crop on the cleaning system.

  • Publication number: 20240155975
Abstract: A system for sensor-based monitoring of a harvesting operation includes a header having a rotating reel, an optical sensor and a rotational reel position sensor. The optical sensor is configured to capture optical data in response to a trigger signal associated with an output signal of the position sensor indicative of a rotational position of the reel. A related method includes triggering the optical sensor when the reel is arranged in at least one predetermined rotational position and capturing optical data by the optical sensor when triggered.

  • Publication number: 20230397539
Abstract: A feed roll includes paddles mounted upright on a cylindrical surface of the roll and oriented parallel to its rotation axis, and V-shaped vanes in a central area of the feed roll. One or more paddles or paddle portions are located in the central area. The paddles or paddle portions may be located between the blades that define the V-shaped vanes, i.e. blades which extend between a top point at or near the tip of the V-shape and a base point at the base of the V-shape. Paddles may be present between the base points of one or more of the V-shaped vanes, and additional intermediate paddles may be located between the top points and the base points of the blades. The paddles or paddle portions in the central area enhance the capability of deflecting objects away from the threshing rotors downstream of the feed roll in a combine harvester.

  • Publication number: 20230276736
Abstract: A rotor for an agricultural implement such as a self-propelled harvester. The rotor includes a surface and one or more rasp bars which comprise a crop engaging portion that is immobile relative to the surface and a crop engaging portion that is movable relative to the surface, in that a distance between at least part of the movable portion and the surface of the rotor is variable. One of the crop engaging portions is a primary portion configured to engage with crop regardless of whether it is movable or not, while the other is a secondary portion that comprises a crop engaging feature such as a tooth for increasing traction on the crop. The crop engaging feature is activated, by either extending radially outwardly from the primary portion, or deactivated by lying at a same radial position or radially inwardly of the primary portion.
