Abstract: The present application relates to a cosmetic composition, in particular a care or make-up composition to be applied to the skin and/or to the eyelashes, which comprises at least one fatty substance and at least one aqueous polymer dispersion consisting of particles resulting from the polymerization of a radical monomer in the interior and/or partially at the surface of already existing polymer particles of polyester type.

Abstract: Aqueous aerosol lacquer contains, in solution in water, a copolymer having repeating units derived from the polymerization of:(i) least one unsaturated sulphonic acid in a proportion of 30 to 90% by weight and having the following general formula: ##STR1## in which: R.sub.1 denotes a hydrogen atom or the CH.sub.3 radical,X denotes --O-- or --NH--, andY denotes a linear or branched alkylene chain containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and(ii) at least one N-monoalkylacrylamide or methacrylamide in a proportion of 10 to 70% by weight and having the following general formula: ##STR2## in which: R.sub.2 denotes a hydrogen atom or --CH.sub.3 radical andR.sub.3 denotes a linear or branched radical containing from 3 to 10 carbon atoms,the sulphonic acid functional groups of the copolymer being neutralized in a proportion of 40 to 70% with triethanolamine, and the propellent agent of the aerosol lacquer being dimethyl ether.

Abstract: Use in association, as oil thickners, in a cosmetic composition comprising an oily phase, of at least one first copolymer including patterns derived from at least one lipophilic monomer and patters derived from at least one hydrophilic monomer, comprising at least one carboxylic acid or sulphonic grouping, and of at least one second copolymer including patterns derived from at least one lipophilic monomer and patterns derived from at least one hydrophilic monomer comprising at least one amine, amide, alcohol or ether grouping. Said first and second copolymers have a molecular weight of not less than approximately 100 000. The association enables thickened composition to be obtained, the texture, look and feel of which correspond to a cosmetic use.

Abstract: A copolymer produced by the copolymerization of a monomer mixture comprising at least 30 weight percent of at least one organic ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, at least 30 weight percent of at least one N-alkyl acrylamide the alkyl group of which contains 8 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl chain and 0 to 40 weight percent of at least one hydrophilic unsaturated monomer as well as a corresponding copolymer the carboxylic groups of which are completely or partially salified. The preparation and the use of the copolymer as a thickening agent in compositions having a high amount of a surfactant such as a shampoo are also disclosed.
