  • Patent number: 9253091
Abstract: A method for processing a request for content by a routing device in a communication network implementing a name-based routing. The device includes plural interfaces to receive a request for content and a data packet associated with a content, and a routing table adapted to determine, based on a content name, at least one interface to route the request. The method includes: receiving the request through a first interface; if the device is not able to provide said data packet, searching for the name of the content in a table of pending requests associated with the first interface; in case the content name does not appear in the table, storing the name of the content in the table; and transmitting the request through at least one second interface, the second interface being determined as a function of the name of the content on the basis of the routing table.

  • Publication number: 20150319204
Abstract: The invention relates to a technique for communication implemented by a routing device in a communication network implementing a name-based routing. To process a request relating to a segment of data of a given stream to be routed, the routing device obtains (E8) at least one identifier of an interface by way of which at least one other segment of data of said given stream has been routed during the processing of an earlier request relating to said other segment of data and routes (E9) this request by way of this at least one interface obtained. In a particular embodiment, a stream being attached to a domain, the request is also routed (E10) by way of another interface through which at least one other segment of data of a stream attached to said domain has been received.

  • Publication number: 20120259920
Abstract: In a peer-to-peer communication network between terminals, classes are assigned respectively to said terminals, a class indicating the transmission capacity of the terminal. The transmission capacity of a terminal corresponds to at least one transmission characteristic associated with the terminal and depends at least on a type of underlying physical network to which the terminal belongs. At a first terminal, a request is received to transmit digital content to a second terminal, the request indicating the class assigned to the second terminal. Then a decision is made whether or not to transmit a least a portion of the digital content to the second terminal, on the basis of said indicated class. Finally, the decision is transmitted to the second terminal.

  • Patent number: 7693184
Abstract: A telecommunications system SYST including a local area network WLAN, a main network INTNW, and an intermediate element INTM through which data packets Dpo, Epi/Tepi must pass in transit between the local area network WLAN and the main network INTNW. The system evaluates a volume of calls supported by the local area network WLAN, and truncates data packets if said volume is above a predetermined threshold. In the event of an overload, the size of data packets in transit through the local area network is automatically reduced without recourse to systematic and discriminatory elimination of a particular type of data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a telecommunications system SYST including a local area network WLAN, a main network INTNW, and an intermediate element INTM through which data packets Dpo, Epi/Tepi must pass in transit between the local area network WLAN and the main network INTNW. The system according to the invention includes: means for evaluating a volume of calls supported by the local area network WLAN; and means for truncating data packets if said volume is above a predetermined threshold. In the event of an overload the invention automatically reduces the size of data packets in transit through the local area network without recourse to systematic and discriminatory elimination of a particular type of data.

  • Publication number: 20090034527
Abstract: A method of combating the sending of unsolicited information in a packet transmission network from a sending entity to a destination entity, the unsolicited information being of voice type and being sent during a call that includes a call set-up stage during which a call signaling message is transmitted in the network, followed by an on-going call stage during which said unsolicited information is transmitted. The method includes a step of detecting unsolicited information during said call. The method also includes a reaction step triggered following detection of unsolicited information during the call. A system for combating the sending of unsolicited information is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070070912
Abstract: This method for notifying changes of state in the resources of a network to at least one application adapted to execute on the network, comprises the following steps: extracting routing information, using change-of-state notification means with which the application has previously been register; and forwarding said routing information extracted by the notification means to the application.

  • Publication number: 20060218259
Abstract: A method of setting up a communication between a plurality of terminals (T1, . . . , Tn) in a network comprises the activation of at least one chosen node (N1, . . . , Nm) of the network. A node is selected beforehand as a function of predetermined criteria, then the presence of possible means of management of communication on this node (N1, . . . , Nm) is thereafter detected. In case of absence of the means of management on the node, means of management of communication are dispatched to the node. This method applies in particular to computer networks that can support teleconferences.

  • Patent number: 5724354
Abstract: A method for the insertion of a flow of applications-specific cells or maintenance cells into a flow of incident cells according to the ATM standard or a similar standard. To this end, a message characterizing each received cell is formed in real time. This message gives, among others, a piece of information on the type of cell, and the user cells are selected so that each of them is stored for the period of time in which a processing operation is performed on the stored cells. This processing operation is done on the basis of the messages formed to generate a specific cell (or a maintenance cell). This cell is sent out whenever a determined number of user cells has been sent out, and a vacant cell is eliminated. Else, a pending user cell is sent out and a vacant cell is generated. Application to transmission on the ATM networks.
