  • Patent number: 10782106
Abstract: A shaped charge including an explosive load positioned in a casing, a liner applied on the load, and means ensuring the securing of the casing and the load bearing the liner. These securing means include a ring having a stop surface for the liner and at least two shims each covering an angular sector and moving radially by the action of a tightening means, to be pressed against an inner bearing surface of the casing. According to the invention, the tapped hole of the tightening screw(s) has its axis parallel to the axis of the casing and the shim is positioned axially relative to the ring by at least one radial pin authorizing sliding thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2018
Date of Patent: September 22, 2020
    Assignee: NEXTER MUNITIONS
    Inventors: Rémi Boulanger, Bertrand Padiolleau

  • Patent number: 8511230
Abstract: A safety and arming device for a spin-stabilized explosive projectile, said device incorporating a screen obstructing a transmission channel linking a detonator and a pyrotechnic relay, said screen comprising two half-screens able to move with respect to one another and transversally with respect to said channel, said two half-screens obstructing said channel when contacting one another, wherein said two half-screens are able to slide in a bore hole carried by a rotor coaxial to said projectile, said rotor is able to pivot on the axis of said projectile and carries said channel, said two half-screens locked into the position obstructing said channel by at least two locks, a first lock or inertial lock which retracts when said projectile is fired and a second lock or centrifugal lock formed by a spiral spring surrounding an external cylindrical surface of said rotor and applied against the ends of said half-screens.

  • Patent number: 6857372
Abstract: The object of the invention is an explosive ammunition (1) having a fragmenting structure comprising an explosive charge (3) configured in a splinter-generating shell (2). This ammunition is characterized by comprising a case (7) enclosing the shell (2) and containing means implementing a mechanical stress differential during ammunition ignition at the outer surface of the shell (2), where this differential enhances splinter generation and is distributed over a regular, 3D grid.

  • Patent number: 6325325
Abstract: A translational braking device for a projectile on its trajectory. The device has at least two air brakes made in the form of flaps that are moved in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the projectile to increase the aerodynamic drag of the projectile. Each flap has at least two closed grooves, extending essentially parallel to a direction that is perpendicular to the axis of the projectile, each groove cooperating with a rod that is fixed with respect to the projectile.
