  • Patent number: 4243535
Abstract: A filter assembly comprises a plurality of filter elements telescopically mounted relative to each other and in a housing defining an inlet and an outlet thereon. Each filter element comprises a tubular screen having a plurality of longitudinally extending ribs secured in circumferentially spaced relationship therearound. First and second filter elements of each radially adjacent pair of filter elements have the ribs thereof aligned in abutting relationship to space the screens of the filter elements radially from each other to define a flow passage therebetween. The screen of the outermost filter element is cylindrical, the screen of the next radially adjacent filter element is frustoconically shaped and et sequence to closely compact the filter elements together. An end cap is secured on one end of the filter assembly to retain it in place in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4195480
Abstract: An improved hydraulic pump structure for hydraulic systems which require a plurality of rotary pumps has a pump casing assembly (20) consisting of a plurality of pump casing elements (23-29) which are fastened together in abutting relationship to define a first pump cavity (54) and a second pump cavity (55a) with aligned drive shaft holes (56-61) and a drive shaft (62-63) which is journalled in the holes (56-61) and carries a rotary pump member (76-77 or 80-81) in each cavity (54 and 55a). The casing elements (23-29) are manifolded to provide a first fluid inlet passage (82), a first fluid delivery passage (84) which terminates in a port in a fluid delivery end plate (29), a second fluid inlet passage (86) which has an entrance opening (H6) in the fluid delivery end plate (29), and a second fluid outlet passage (87) which terminates in a port in the fluid delivery end plate (29).

  • Patent number: 4076219
Abstract: A winch drum carrying a cable is supported by drive mechanism which includes a normally disengaged drive input clutch that is engageable in response to pressurized fluid to reel in cable. A normally engaged disconnect clutch disengages in response to fluid pressure to free the drum for rotation independently of the drive mechanism. A normally engaged brake immobilizes the drive mechanism except when released by fluid pressure. A control valve provides for directing pressurized fluid to appropriate ones or combinations of the clutches and brake as necessary to establish any of four operational conditions including Reel-In, Brake-On, Brake-Off and Disconnect modes of operation. A check valve between the flow lines that connect the control valve to the input clutch and to the brake assures that there is no momentary overlapping of engagements of both the input clutch and the brake when the Reel-In mode of operation is initiated or terminated.

  • Patent number: 4074796
Abstract: A towing winch system with fluid pressure actuated power input and winch input clutches disposed serially between the power take-off and cable drum. A controlled but variable reduced fluid pressure from a source is applied to the winch input clutches and full fluid pressure is applied to the power input clutch through a valve which opens in response to and when the pressure applied to the winch input clutches exceeds a manually selectable low or high value for inching or non-inching operation, respectively.
