    Abstract: In one aspect the invention relates to a method of automating an application process. The method includes the steps of collecting student identification information using a graphic user interface; collecting student transcript and student application data; generating a first secure communication channel to transmit a portion of the student transcript and student application data to a first server in response to a valid request; formatting the transcript data such that it is suitable for use by a first database; generating a second secure communication channel to transmit the portion of the student transcript and student application data to the first database, the first database managed by a higher educational institution, and notifying the first server when the transcript data has been received by the database. In one embodiment, the valid request is verified using student identification information.
