Abstract: A simple chemical modeling kit meets these needs and can be used by chemistry students, especially beginning students, to understand spatial relationships of atoms within molecules and to comprehend the shapes of molecules. The kit can comprise a plurality of rigid rods of the same length, width, and thickness, which can be manipulated to illustrate chemical structures. The structural formulas produced by the use of the kit can be described as abbreviated structural formulas.
