  • Patent number: 7909468
Abstract: A reflective or light redirecting device has a base with an overlaying pattern or light redirector. The pattern can be selected from a collection of masks, templates, or reflective appliques. The device is arranged to reflect or redirect light, for example sunlight, in a beam that projects a corresponding design. A motor rotates the device and reorients its directional axis to reflect light toward a surface to circulate the design on a path on the surface.

  • Patent number: 7621640
Abstract: An optical device can produce a virtual image visible from a vantage point. The device has one or more lenses, a source for producing light, and an internally illuminable, non-transparent display object. The source can produce light in the display object in order to internally illuminate the display object and cause it to predominantly radiate internal light. The lens(es) can project a virtual image of the display object. In some instances two or more devices with matching display objects may be used to project one virtual image of the display objects. Each device is angled in order to increase the field of view of the virtual image.

  • Patent number: 6164786
Abstract: An array of concentrators of electromagnetic radiation (i.e., visible light, radio waves, etc.) employing one or more concentrating devices. Each concentrating device includes: a concentrator system for concentrating the incident electromagnetic radiation impinging thereon; a collimator system disposed in the path of electromagnetic radiation from the concentrator system for producing a beam of electromagnetic radiation; and a redirecting system. Each concentrating device has one or more of its elements staggered such that the beams from the array of concentrating devices result in a stacked or bundled plurality of beams. This bundle of beams is then concentrated again, recollimated and redirected to join with other similarly concentrated beams. This arraying can be repeated again and again, producing stronger and stronger beams or electromagnetic radiation, if desired.
