The BAC measurement system includes a sensor unit, a microcontroller and a power extraction unit. The sensor unit includes a fuel cell that generates an electric current when a breath of a user contacts the fuel cell. The microcontroller generates a signal based on the electric current. A frequency of the signal is based on alcohol content in the breath. The power extraction unit powers the sensor unit. The power extraction unit converts the audio signal generated by the phone into power for the microcontroller.
