Monitoring system having contextual gaze-detection-based selection/triggering of caregiver functions
Patent number: 11556174Abstract: A monitoring system incorporates, and method and computer program product provide a contextual gaze detection based user selection for prompting caregiver actions by a person with ambulatory and communication deficits or limitations. A controller of the monitoring system receives receiving at least one image stream from a camera system comprising at least one image capturing device. The camera system captures a first image stream that encompasses eyes of a person and a second image stream that at least partially encompasses surrounding object(s) and surface(s) viewable by the person. The controller determines an eye gaze direction of the person and a region of interest (ROI) aligned with the eye gaze direction. The controller identifies an object and associated caregiver action contained within the ROI. The controller communicates a notification to an output device, which presents to a second person, an indication of interest by the person in the caregiver action.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2022Date of Patent: January 17, 2023Assignee: Motorola Mobility LLCInventors: Amit Kumar Agrawal, Rahul Bharat Desai -
Patent number: 11463616Abstract: An automatic mirror mode system determines when a user is facing a display device and is close to the display device, and when the intent of the user is to activate a mirror mode of the computing device. In response to determining that the user is facing the display device and is close to the display device, and that the intent of the user is to activate a mirror mode of the computing device, the computing device automatically enters the mirror mode. In the mirror mode, one or more images are captured using a front-facing camera and are displayed on the display device. This allows the user to, for example, check his teeth or hair before meeting someone, entering a meeting, and so forth.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2021Date of Patent: October 4, 2022Assignee: Motorola Mobility LLCInventors: Alexandre Neves Creto, Olivier David Meirhaeghe, Rahul Bharat Desai, Amit Kumar Agrawal

Publication number: 20080021452Abstract: The present invention is a fully contoured calcaneal plate having substantially no planar surfaces except at the origin. The contoured plate includes radiused sections, one extending inferior to superior is curved inferior to superior in a shape which is close to cylindrical and which approximates the shape of the cuboid bone. The second radiused section is curved in the vicinity of the anterior strut, and in particular at the inferior portion of the plate, to accommodate the peroneal tubercle. The plate has a rectangular or modified ovoid body section and a dog boned shaped tail with triangular placed holes for fixation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 16, 2007Publication date: January 24, 2008Inventors: Dustin Ducharme, Bryan Den Hartog, Michael McGlamry, Bharat Desai, David Kay, Lee Strnad

Patent number: 6057282Abstract: Imadazoline-based amphoacetates of higher purity, containing essentially negligible amounts of unalkylated amido amines, lower amounts of glycolic acid salts and monochloroacetate salts, superior to currently available conventional amphoacetates, are provided. This is demonstrated by their improved surface-active properties. Lower inherent irritation properties may be expected due to improved purity. The higher purity amphoacetates can be obtained via processes utilizing precise pH control during the reaction of imidazoline, or its open-chain derivatives, with alkylating agents, e.g. sodium monochloroacetate. The pH can be controlled by adding the base slowly or automatically in response to a pH metering device to maintain a constant pH, or by a series of staged additions which are calculated to maintain pH within a stated range. The reaction may also be carried out by conducting the initial hydrolysis of the imidazoline ring structure, followed by alkylation.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1999Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Rhodia Inc.Inventors: Bharat Desai, Peter Lees, Jean-Marc Ricca, David J.
