    Abstract: N-butane and molecular oxygen are reacted in a first reactor to form maleic anhydride, the produced maleic anhydride is scrubbed to separate maleic anhydride values, n-butane is added to the scrubber gases and these are reacted in a second reactor to form additional maleic anhydride.
