Embodiments herein provide a method for handling functional alias in a conference event package in a wireless network by a server. The method includes detecting a group call associated with a group in the wireless network. Further, the method includes providing a SIP NOTIFY message comprising an ID of each member of a plurality of members of the group, and an IE indicating the functional alias bound by each member of the plurality of members with the group. Further, the method includes sending the SIP NOTIFY message to a client device corresponding to each member of the plurality of members of the group.
