Abstract: A system for distribution of data comprising: a transmitting device (100) arranged to transmit data comprising plurality of services, each service being transmitted on one of a plurality of channels (210, 220, 230, etc.); a plurality of receiving devices (110, 120, 130, etc.) arranged to receive said data and to select a service from the plurality of services, characterized by: the receiving device (110) being arranged to receive auxiliary data (340) comprising information (310 and 320) about the service and an identification of one channel from said plurality of channels (330 or 335) on which said service is transmitted; the receiving device (110) being arranged to change to the channel according to the auxiliary data (340) to receive the desired service corresponding to said channel. Abstract: A method for generating blocks of data, e.g. teletext pages or electronic program guide structures, comprising data intended for display and control data, which blocks of data can be multiplexed with a composite video signal, e.g. a television signal, wherein the blocks of data are encoded in packets, comprising at least one packet (24) containing at least one data field (29,50,51,57) in which a reference link to (a part of) another block of data (62) is programmed. The reference link is programmed to link an element (49) of the data intended for display in the referring block of data (48) to (a part of) the other block of data (62). A method for processing such data uses the programmed reference link. A teletext receiver arrangement uses this processing method. A broadcasting station (1) and a device (3) for programming blocks of data (24) are adapted to using a method of the first-mentioned kind to generate a signal.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for reminding a person of an event. The system comprises at least one first device (1), e.g. a television or computer, with means for entering a reminder message. The system comprises at least one second device (3) associated with each first device (1) and a service station (4), with means for storing a reminder message and transmitting it to the second device (3) at a specified time, and a telecommunications network (6) through which a reminder message can be transferred from the first device (1) to the service station (4) and from there to the second device(s) (3) associated with the first device (1). The first device (1) comprises means for storing a reminder and automatically transferring it to the service station (4).
