  • Patent number: 4389082
Abstract: This disclosure depicts a novel frictional locking non-rotatable strain relief clamp for securing an electrical conductor which is attached to an electrical plug or socket and for relieving strain on the attachment of the conductor and plug or socket. The strain relief clamp comprises a first clamp section having front and back walls and a curved side wall. The back wall has a radially extending narrow slot centered in the first clamp section. A second clamp section also has front and back walls and a curved side wall. The back wall has a radially extending narrow slot centered in the second clamp section. A means for holding the first clamp section to the second clamp section is provided such that the back wall of the first clamp section aligns with the back wall of the second clamp section. The strain relief clamp further comprises a unitary adapter having two retaining means for slideably engaging the slots in the first and second clamp sections.

  • Patent number: 4296987
Abstract: This disclosure depicts a novel improved electrically conductive double action pressure lock terminal assembly for use with an electrical wiring device capable of holding various diameter sized conductors. The pressure lock terminal assembly comprises: an electrically non-conductive base having a cavity stop means; an electrically conductive contact strip supported by the base, the contact strip having a main section with at least one jaw section extending from the end of the main section; and an electrically conductive double action pressure lock attached to and extending at a right angle from the main section such that the double action pressure lock is positioned a predetermined distance beneath the jaw section of the contact strip.

  • Patent number: 4293172
Abstract: This disclosure depicts a novel improved thin wall correlative case for use with an electrical multiple outlet. The correlative case comprises: a bottom section and a top section, each of the top and bottom sections having; a floor, first and second side walls, and first and second end walls, and first and second substantially rectangular apertures in the floor of the bottom section, the apertures being positioned parallel to each other and parallel to the end walls, and a substantially circular aperture in the floor of the bottom section, the circular aperture being located near the first side wall. When the top and bottom sections of the case are assembled, each of the end walls forms a surface having two rectangular apertures parallel to each other and a D-shaped aperture.

  • Patent number: 4172628
Abstract: A push-in type pressure lock terminal for electrical receptacles wherein the bared end of various diameter sized conductors may be inserted into a recess in the receptacle for connection with the internal conductive element thereof, and which is then held therein by a restraint element against withdrawal until the restraint is released. The restraint element comprises a double-action cantilever spring integrally formed from the internal conductive bus element of the receptacle. The double-action spring deflects over a relatively wide range within a limited space within the receptacle to thereby accommodate a range of various diameter sized conductors without causing an objectionable permanent set to occur in the spring. The cantilever spring produces a double-action deflection in the direction of insertion when a wire conductor is inserted and bears against such free end.

  • Patent number: 4030800
Abstract: One end of a dead front is nested in and covered by a back plate. The end of a cord may be threaded through a hole in the back plate for connection of its conductors to terminal plates housed in the dead front. Integral with the back plate is means for clamping the cord to the back plate thereby to relieve strain on the connections of the conductors to the terminal plates. The hole in the back plate is defined by an area of the back plate which is segmented and thereby made flexible. Within limits, a cord of a diameter larger than that of the normal size of the hole may be accommodated by forcing the same past the segments and thereby enlarging the hole as required for passage of the cord therethrough.
