  • Patent number: 10060441
Abstract: A stator airfoil of a gas turbine engine according to one embodiment includes at least two winglets projecting transversely from opposed sides of a stator airfoil, respectively. Each winglet includes a leading edge axially and outwardly extending from one of the opposed sides of the stator airfoil and a trailing edge extending from the stator airfoil to join with the leading edge of the winglet. The winglets therefore provide a wide trailing edge thereof to aerodynamically manage boundary layers and micro-shocks of a working fluid.

  • Patent number: 8196410
Abstract: A fuel nozzle sheath has a lateral opening for admitting air about a nozzle stern. The stress distribution along the perimeter of the window is smoothed out by increasing the corner radius of the window corner presenting the highest stress concentration. The different corner radii of the window opening in the sheath allows to reduce stresses resulting from the load transferred from the combustor liner to the sheath.

  • Patent number: 7721546
Abstract: A mounting system for an annular internal fuel manifold of a gas turbine engine includes three supports equally spaced apart about the annular fuel manifold, the three supports having at least two pin supports disposed between the fuel manifold and a surrounding gas generator casing. Each pin support includes a radially extending pin co-operating with an aligned ring slidingly disposed around the pin for relative sliding displacement therebetween. The pin supports providing axial constraint while permitting the fuel manifold to radially displace relative to the surrounding gas generator casing due to thermal size change.
