  • Patent number: 4071655
Abstract: Carrier particles of development powders are treated with a sodium salt of polystyrene sulfonic acid. As a result of the treatment, the triboelectric properties of the carrier particles are better controlled.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 1976
Date of Patent: January 31, 1978
    Assignee: Pitney-Bowes, Inc.
Inventors: George Brana, Bheema Rao Vijayendran
  • Patent number: 4064833
Abstract: A toner density controller for determining the density of a development material in a magnetic brush assembly of an electrostatic copier is disclosed. Means is provided for imposing a charge on the toner density controller which is opposite in charge to that of the toner particles of the development material. In this way, the toner particles, particularly fines, are repelled from the toner density controller to eliminate interference with the functioning of the controller.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 8, 1976
Date of Patent: December 27, 1977
    Assignee: Pitney-Bowes, Inc.
Inventors: Julius Gluck, Bheema Rao Vijayendran
  • Patent number: 3980576
Abstract: Developer powders are disclosed which use a resinous binder comprising a combination of thermoplastic resins based on a copolymer comprising a styrene and an acrylate or methacrylate selected from the group including butyl, isobutyl, ethyl, propyl and isopropyl, which copolymer is combined with vinyltoluene-butadiene. These developer powders have a melt index of 20 to 30, a melting point of 75.degree.-100.degree.C and a dielectric constant of 4 to 5.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 1975
Date of Patent: September 14, 1976
    Assignee: Pitney-Bowes, Inc.
    Inventor: Bheema Rao Vijayendran
  • Patent number: 3965023
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the making of a liquid toner having large size pigment particles which are created through flocculation of fine size pigment. The toner is especially useful in copying machines that use a development electrode.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 1974
Date of Patent: June 22, 1976
    Assignee: Pitney-Bowes, Inc.
    Inventor: Bheema Rao Vijayendran
