  • Patent number: 9239731
Abstract: A method and system for acquiring a quiesceing set of information associated with a virtual machine. A virtual machine is cloned. The cloned virtual machine has an associated persistent storage device. The state of the persistent storage device is transformed into a quiesced state of the cloned virtual machine by utilizing a shut-down process. The shut-down process is executed on the cloned virtual machine to quiesce the cloned virtual machine and the quiesceing set of information of the cloned virtual machine is automatically reduced to information stored on the persistent storage device.

  • Patent number: 8677351
Abstract: One embodiment entails delivering a software payload to guest software in a virtual machine so that the software payload is part of a file system accessible by the guest software, wherein delivery avoids a data path involving a network stack of the virtual machine.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20050084762
Abstract: A hybrid gelled-electrolyte VRLA battery and method for its manufacture are disclosed. In accordance with the present invention, the VRLA battery includes both an AGM separator and a first gelled electrolyte. In accordance with the method, a first silica-electrolyte mixture is placed in contact with the battery plates and AGM separator before formation. During plate formation, the mixture gels to form the first gelled electrolyte. In some embodiments, after forming the plates, a smaller amount of a second gelled electrolyte is added to the battery jar.
