  • Publication number: 20080163770
Abstract: An apparatus for printing designs or images on a small or constrained area of a substrate. The apparatus includes a screen assembly, a print head, and a guide assembly. A squeegee and a flood bar of the print head are positioned at a predetermined angles and an actuator facilitates switching positions of the flood bar and squeegee through actuation of a toggle mechanism during the print cycle.

  • Publication number: 20080159819
Abstract: An edge finishing system for items such as polycarbonate panels. The system includes a multi-purpose edge-finishing tool which trims and smoothes the edges of a workpiece. The tool includes a contour cutter portion having a concave toroidal surface and a straight cutter portion having a cylindrical shape. A flute extends generally along with the tool's axis and defines a straight cutting edge and contour cutting edge. The system may include a fixture with vacuum cups nested within a platform so as to secure a contoured workpiece by static friction, permitting edges of the workpiece to be both trimmed and smoothly finished using a multi-purpose edge finishing tool, without marring or disfiguring the surface of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6964226
Abstract: The present invention involves a method of transferring a membrane image to an article. The method comprises providing a printed decoration to be applied onto a low surface energy membrane. The low surface energy membrane has a hardness level of greater than 70 durometer Shore A and a surface energy of up to 25 mJ/m2. The method further includes applying a predetermined pressure with a pressure device to force the printed decoration through a screen onto the low surface energy membrane. The pressure device has a hardness of up to 70 durometer Shore A. The method further includes forming the low surface energy membrane to the geometry of the surface of the article and applying pressure between the membrane and the article to transfer the membrane image from the membrane to the article.
