  • Publication number: 20050283081
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-invasive apparatus for continuously measuring a plurality of physiological variables from a user's ear. The non-invasive apparatus includes a body, a temperature detector positioned on the body, a plastic housing encapsulating the body, a light emitting device for emitting a light beam to a tragus of the user's ear, and a light receiver for receiving the light beam penetrating through the tragus. The temperature detector can measure the user's body temperature from a tympanic membrane. The light emitting device incorporating the light receiver can measure the blood oxygen saturation of the user by detecting the energy loss of the light beam due to the penetration through the tragus. The plastic housing includes an awl-shaped portion capable of inserting into an auditory meatus of the user's ear and a protrusion capable of engaging with a triangular fossa of the user's ear.

  • Publication number: 20030131845
Abstract: An auxiliary device for placing a larynx cover for anesthetization, it comprises a handle, a fixing sleeve, a pushing rod and a soft sleeve. The pushing rod is a flexible and elongate metallic rod, has on an end thereof the soft sleeve, and has on its front end a forked opening and on its bottom a bottom poker; the other end of the pushing rod has a turning portion. When the handle are connected with the pushing rod, the flexible pushing rod is extended into an air inlet pipe of the larynx cover to abut against the bottom of the larynx cover and push it forwardly by means of the bottom poker, so that the forked opening of the soft sleeve abuts on a protrusion on an annular rubber pipe in the larynx cover. The handle and the air inlet pipe are firmly combined by the fixing sleeve, the larynx cover will not be departed from the auxiliary device; and the larynx cover can be in an arciform shape without an opening, it can fit the curvature of the throat and will not poke the root of a tong of a patient.

  • Patent number: 6450993
Abstract: A Half-disposable syringe barrel including a barrel syringe and a cap member as two stages. A plunger is fitted in the syringe barrel. An emulsion ring is disposed in the cap member. The emulsion ring is formed with a membrane and is made of highly flexible material. A lubricant is overlaid on the emulsion ring and the membrane thereof. The cap member is fitted with the front end of the syringe barrel. When pulling the plunger backward to suck a medicine, the highly flexible membrane of the emulsion ring is extended and sucked to attach to the wall of the syringe barrel. Therefore, the medicine is enclosed by the emulsion ring and the membrane and isolated from the wall of the syringe barrel. Therefore, the syringe barrel and the plunger are not contaminated by the medicine and the flowing back blood. After the cap member is removed, the syringe barrel can be recovered for reuse.
