  • Patent number: 8669376
Abstract: The present invention concerns groups of compounds derived from tunicates of the Synoicum species, as well as to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds, and uses thereof. Extracts from tunicates show selective toxicity against several different cancer cell lines in the NCI 60 cell line panel. These compounds are useful in the effective treatment of cancers, particularly malignant melanomas, colon cancer, and renal cancer cell lines.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7155701
Abstract: An executable computer program is dynamically constructed by tightly coupling a plurality of dynamically loadable modules. Each modules includes a fully encapsulated function which is typically called from another module. A registration system is employed to associate a pointer with each defined function. In the modules, at run time, each function call is resolved using the associated pointer from the registration system. In particular, each function call is dereferenced by the associated pointer. Consequently, the resulting executable computer program is both flexible and efficient.

  • Publication number: 20050259341
Abstract: A type of servo pattern suitable for tracking systems in magnetic recording devices such as floppy disks or linear tape or thin hard disks or in other machines. The pattern comprises several phase-encoded elements that provide an absolute transverse position coordinate from local data. Computations can be made with channel chips commonly used in magnetic recording disk drives.

  • Publication number: 20050187286
Abstract: A compound or groups of compounds, present in an active principle, derived from tunicates of the species Synoicum adareanum, as well as to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds. Extracts from tunicates show selective toxicity against several different cancer cell lines in the NCI 60 cell line panel. These compounds are useful in the effective treatment of cancers, particularly malignant melanomas, colon cancer, and renal cancer cell lines.

  • Patent number: 6738205
Abstract: A method and system for self-servo writing a disk drive by transferring a servo reference pattern by magnetic printing onto at least one storage surface of a reference disk, wherein a resulting printed reference pattern includes embedded servo information providing servo timing and transducer head position information; assembling the disk drive including the steps of installing at least said disk into the disk drive and enclosing said disk and the data transducers within a housing sealed against particulate contamination from an eternal ambient environment; reading the printed reference pattern from said disk via at least one transducer head to generate a readback signal; sampling the readback signal at a sampling rate to generate a sampled signal; processing the sampled signal waveform specturm to generate a recovered signal including the embedded servo information and a fundamental frequency of the sampled signal; using the servo information from the recovered signal to precisely position and maintain the d

  • Patent number: 6704156
Abstract: A method for self-servo writing a disk drive includes the steps of transferring a servo reference pattern by magnetic printing onto at least one storage surface of a disk; assembling the disk drive including installing the disk into the disk drive and enclosing the disk and the data transducers within a housing sealed against particulate contamination from an eternal ambient environment; reading the servo reference pattern from the disk via transducer heads; using head position and timing information in the pattern to precisely position and maintain the data transducers at concentric track locations of disk storage surfaces; and self-writing disk drive servo patterns onto the storage surfaces at the concentric track locations with the data transducers in accordance with the disk drive servo pattern features.

  • Patent number: 6304407
Abstract: A coarse magnetic template pattern is transferred to a data storage surface of a disk by magnetic printing techniques. As printed, the template pattern essentially provides clocking and may provide radial position information. The disk is then assembled into a completed and enclosed disk drive. The template pattern is then used by the disk drive to self-write highly resolved product embedded servo patterns onto storage surfaces of each data disk including the surface having the printed template pattern.
